Advice On Replacement Motor

My truck is getting a bit long in the tooth with 206K on the clock, so I'm looking into a "new" engine and came up with VG30s from an '88 300ZX, an '88 Pathy and a '94 Quest. All are from the same wrecking yard in Tennesse, all are $400, all have free shipping and all are reported to have approximately 75,000 miles on them. Funny thing is, all the engines listed on the website are said to have about 75,000 miles on them. I called the guy and he said he's not familiar with the website info and can't tell me why just about all his engines are listed at the same mileage, but he assures me that he remembers seeing the odometer on the Pathy when it was brought in at about 75k. I guess the question is do I trust the guy and go with the Pathy engine or play the numbers and go with the Quest one since its six years younger? I don't have the space for a rebuild project, so I was really looking for a low mileage drop-in. BTW, I've checked around and the only way I could get a cheaper VG would be to pull one with 135k on it myself from a yard and save about $100 or steal one of Slick's.

What do y'all think?

If you pick up the one out of the 94, you'd have to get an ECU as well, as it'll be a VG30E, not I. Unless you're into swapping out intakes and stuff, but if that were the case, you'd have room for a rebuild.

 

Go with the Pathy engine, and it should drop right in.

Shoot, $400 for a 75K mile VG30? Go get ya one. I'd go with the Pathy engine, since the guy verified mileage, or at least what appeared to be the mileage.

Just found another VG30 from a place in Cali with 25k on the ticker for $750 shipped. I might have to scrape up the change from the sofa cushions to get that one, but the Cali shop lists different mileages between their engines. Seems a bit more above board. I was about ready to spend ~$500 for a drop-in swap, so is anyone interested in a '87 VG30 long block with 209k for $200? Sarasota area? Can hear run if you get here before the swap. Anyone? Oh well, I guess that's what credit cards are for. Now I just have to clear it with the boss.
