ericzawadski
hey everyone, my name is Eric, and i am new member. I have a 1998 pathfinder SE. I want to make it off-road capable, like bigger tires, lift kit, roof rack, engine modifications, all that kind of jazz. Does anyone know some good links or some parts that they could recommend? Thank you, Eric.
nissandoms47
Welcome to Npora, As for lift kits, depending on how high you wanna go I would recommend the AC 2" coil spring lift. Bigger tires I would suggest 31-32" BFG ATs, roof rack, I really like the Yakima Loadwarrior, engine mods, intake, magnaflow exhaust.
tmorgan4
Like he said ^^^, it all depends on how big you want to go for the lift and tires. I find that it's tough to recommend things for someone when you don't have a clue what they're trying to accomplish. nissandoms47
He said in his post that he wants to make it off-road capable? Do you find that hes not trying to acomplish that? I think to make any pathy capable offroad, the AC package is good for the job. Correct me if im wrong...
tmorgan4
There's just more to it than that. Some would say that it's "capable" in stock form with 29" highway terrains. Depends HOW capable he wants it and how much he's willing to spend.
nissandoms47
Yes some would, but he asked for a lift kit, and the AC package is a capable lift..
Pezzy
omg @ you two... like a nattering married couple. Welcome to NPORA Eric... As mentioned, the AC lift (www.4x4parts.com) a popular one (and the one I have) it's a 2" lift, which often will get you closer to 3". Check the stickied threads at the top of this section for more info on lifts... As for tires, I suppose it depends on what type of wheeling you want to do. Lots of mud? Rocks? Some of both? And also how much road driving you plan on doing also... you can also check out the tire review thread in the Product Reviews section. Also, try using the search function for other mods... it's a bit finicky, but there is a lot of info to be had here.
RWC5S2
I love my AC lift, which does give you closer to 3". I have the BFG A/T's which work well off-road but provide good highway travel without sounding like a chainsaw. Again, depends on what you want to do. Heavy mud is a whole different game versus sand, dirt or rocks. Welcome to the forum. These folks can tell you every thing about building up the Pathfinder. Actually, the information is here in the kinda user friendly forums.
88pathoffroad
Use the search button and read posts first. That would be a good place to start.
