clear tailight conversion

I was thinking of cutting off a section of the tailights mount (sheetmetal part) on a 93 hardbody and have my rear talights replaced.Im thinking that with a little body work this can be done

 

Has anyone thought of this before? been wanting a clear tailights for my pathy but couldnt find a clear TL for a reasonable price.

Each has thier own way of customizing their ride, kinda like you having a "celebrate diversity" logo laser etched on your turn signals

 

 

I just like the clear lens but not those new one that has all those reflectors angled in different position inside.I like them smooth looking.Clean plain yet functional
