I suppose it depends on what kind of site it will be... is it something like this board, just more regional?? maybe start with the types of things you look for in a club/site/forum...

Whenever I build a site, part of it is mapping out the whole site. Ask yourself what your goal or goals are in creating this website? Is it a way for local people to log on and interact? Are you trying to convey information as well?

I would start with the main page and then start with all the "subpages" or links you want to go off from that page. Basically draw a "map" and create pages in accordance to what your needs/goals are.

You're going to want to limit use of or reduce the file size of images on the main page. It's got a lot to load and it's awful slow. I'd suggest finding a way to combine all the header pics into a single element via Photoshop or something. Then you could save it as a smaller file and still keep all your pics, but combined, they'll be smaller. Also, try using a simple table for the navigation links, that bordered console-looking thing might look neat but it just takes up space. What you need is a page that loads quickly and is easily navigable without too much flash.

Also, way too much neon green for my taste. Just my 2 cents! :)

Thanks for the input...lol

I have the pics set at 400x380 and in GIF format.

The links are going to be tabs on the main page then opening into full page. What do you think?
