tranny band adjustment...

I've been wondering the same lately as well.

I'll look in my FSM tonight and post the procedure. Unfortunately if it's like most trannies one adjustement has to be done with the pan off. As I recently found out the xhaust cross over needs to be removed to get the pan off. I just had mine off and I don't feel like welding my exhaust again.

I just want to drop the pan to replace the filter and was wondering if it is as easy my wagoneer to adjust the bands...I have had this thing sitting for awhile and is a great solid ride but terrible shifting gears.

You'll have to drop the exhaust to get the pan off. Or do what I did and cut the cross over and weld it back in.

tear it all apart... My question remains, any way to adjust the bands without dropping the tranny itself regardless of how to drop the pan? If so does anyone have a write up? If someone did drop the tranny and has any advice on how to adjust the bands that would wonderful!!!
