BLouisGod
Yeap, leaking a pretty consistent amount of oil off the bell housing. Can I just keep putting oil in the engine or do I really really need to replace the seal?
unccpathfinder
u're goign to want to replace it eventually...depending on how bad its leaking depends on how long u can go...but i'd do it ASAP...
Cuong Nguyen
all that oil spray does help out with waterproofing the undercarriage..... but very messy to clean up and work with.

BLouisGod
Its an auto so no clutch fluid - i wish it was an mt. Its not trans fluid, its fresh oil. Its leaking off the bell housing and looks like its been sprayed on the cross member and onto the oil pan. ill clean it this weekend and find for sure where its coming from - but im pretty sure its a rms. BLouisGod
I wish it was! You know, I keep checking the oil level and it looks like the oil line is up over the full mark on the dip stick. Could the oil change place have overfilled it? Could oil pressure cause a busted seal somewhere that is popping out oil all over? I really need to get under it this weekend... unccpathfinder
like slick said...check the valve cover...i thought i had an RMS and oil pan leak and it was really my valve cover gasket got hot old and leaky and it was running down and looked like it was coming out of the bell housing...u might want to spray it all down just to be sure... BLouisGod
awesome man, thanks for that info. ill look at it tomorrow - i hope its just the valve cover!
BLouisGod
I dont think its anything, I think the guys at the oil change place dropped the oil filter on the bracing and it spilled everywhere - we will see when i check it next weekend. unccpathfinder
yea thats a good cause too esp on the RH side...b.c u cant change it without leaking...unless of course if u have a relocation kit or threw in a 90 deg adaptor (i dont think thats possible) well keep an eye on it and GL... Slick
also, overfilling of pathy's is commonplace at oil change places, so if the dipstick is reading overfull, then drain a bit out.
