Tire Pressure vs. Radiator...who will win

so i do some decent offroading, and this happens. never had a problem before. i pull into a mobil station to check the pressure in my tires after driving for about 5 minutes, and my truck starts smoking. upper radiator hose burst. yeah. so note this all of my fellows offroaders, do NOT leave the trails or EVER check your tire pressure.

on a serious note, i replaced the house and my temp gauge is still spiking. could the radiator have blown that quick with a bad hose?

poke a small hole in the top of the upper rad hose to let the air escape.

ok... no, don't do it that way. There should be a bleed point that looks like a bolt head with a little tube (1/8 in) on top. I think Slick posted a pic of it once.

You are mean, really mean. :)

I've always been able to bleed by squeezing the top hose and adding coolant, starting the engine and doing the same. Within a few minutes there should be circulation observed. If not, place the cap on, fill the reserve and let it cool. This should draw more coolant in as the temperature drops.
