I have not tried them myself, but i have heard they are not a good idea, especially of you wheel a lot.. they don't hold up too well to the stress.

this is just some of what i've heard from hardcore wheelers. i'm sure someone who has had experience with them will chime in :beer:

ive put 1/2 spacers on a 1976 ford elite (family version of the turino) it got stret tire that were 8in wide and were hiting the wheel wells. they dont cover the whole hub so you reduse the surface area of the rims stbility. fine for a pavement pounder bad for and kind of twisting or bending from off roading

if it makes a difference...i'm far from a hard core wheeler. my offroad consists of old rutted logging roads and lots of snow.

 

to be totally honest...i just love the wide mean look. i'm getting new rubber and figured maybe do this at the same time...
