I am considering a Pathy (new). I will probably buy in May-July of '07. I am curious how many of you have replaced your fuel injectors.

The reason I ask is that I currently am driving a hand-me down 1995 Nissan Maxima with 197k miles on it and have just replaced all 6 fuel injectors to alleviate a missfire problem. During the repair process I talked to the local Nissan dealership mechanic and he informed that they were doing a lot of injectors on all Nissans including fairly new ones. I am curious if this is something that you guys have had to do on your vehicles or not. I am not asking if you changed it because you put in a new engine or something like an upgrade/improvement, I am asking if it is something that you did as a regular maintenance or to fix a major problem.

I have not had to replace any fuel injectors in any of my Nissans.

They have all proven to be extremely low dollar/mile to maintain.

 

Just out of curiosity, what kind of gas do you use? All MPFI engines are sensitive to low grade (dirty) generic fuels. As a rule, I always use name brands.

same here, no faulty fuel injectors in any of our nissan vehicles (look @ signature). i'd have to say that we have over 450k miles between all of them.

I aint had mine long, but at 184k purrs like a kitten.

99 maxima 200k, no issues with injectors, replaced one of the coil packs, 99 path, just purchased with 170k, so far so good on the injectors. The coil pack on the max created a hella misfire situation. All of your injectors going bad at once sounds like bad fuel. I heard shell screwed alot of injectors up a few years ago with a bad mix of some ingredient in their winter fuel. They were covering repairs but only if you went after them for it, they didn't make it public as far as I know.
