trashman Posted October 25, 2006 Share Posted October 25, 2006 I did a complete front brake job on my new 99 r50 this past weekend it had about 1/2 wear on the front pads and i turned the rotors to get them true all went well and i prety much liked the design of everything . Question to you guys is this with 30k city miled on this thing and 1/2 worn out pads what do you estimate my rear shoes should look like ??? radar Posted October 28, 2006 Share Posted October 28, 2006 The majority of braking occurs in the front so the back are likely fine, easy to check, wouldn't hurt to knock the dust and rust off the drums. Have to ask, how much to turn the rotors, I bought new here for $40.00 CAD, hardly seemed worth the bother of turning. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
QuismO Posted October 28, 2006 Share Posted October 28, 2006 yea i replaced my rear brake shoes a couple months ago, at approximately 149k miles...they looked like the originals...and even then, they looked like they had some meat on them. i just decided to replace them 'cause there was SOME intermittent squeaking, plus i was doing the front brakes.
