Coil options- (OME now 1.75"?)

Hi, I've currently got 2" AC coils but since I am having issues with running manual hubs on my QX4 due to a transfer case warning light, I'd like to relieve some of the angle on my CVs by going with less coil lift. I'd like to clear 265/75/16s without trimming for now, but hopefully will be adding the Prado 4.5" lift later. What options have I got in stock or nearly stock height?

(Notes, in terms of load front vs rear I have only a brush guard up front and no winch, so I think I've added more weight in the rear in comparison with a big sub box and a trailer hitch. I also would still use my almost new KYB GR2 and Rancho 9000x)

1. OME- on Rocky Road http://www.rocky-road.com/pathfinder.html I noticed it says 1.75" lift, didn't the OME's used to be 1"??? Did they change things? I believe I'd want heavy duty front and medium duty rear.

2. AC- Sells a heavy duty coil supposedly 0.5" higher than stock at link Does anybody run these? Are they just stock height but stiffer? Are they the same as the old OME design? I am worried that they only list a heavy duty rear in 0.5" though, not a medium or light duty.

3. Are there any other options? I don't want to go back to the soft stock coils.

Thanks!

So Mike from AC emailed me back saying that the 0.5" coils they list on their site are "the same as OME coils and they are 10% spring rate increase while our 2" lift coils are 20% spring rate increase." He said they typically yield 0.5-0.75" lift. I am confused because Rocky-Road's website says the OMEs are 1.75" lift. Also AC only lists a heavy duty rear spring while at ARB's website (the maker of OME) I don't see such an option- only medium in rear: http://www.arb.com.au/Seattle/UVAG_PDF/Pat...er_06.19.06.pdf

Shed some light?

I did the A/C 2" lift and have had no problems. You will actually get more like 2.5" plus. I did the option for the Bilstein Shocks and Rancho Struts. Softer on the road but still good for off-road. Yiou can see my rig on the 33's on my R-50 post.

I already have the AC lift and have problems. I can not run manual hubs due to the all-mode transfer case on the QX4 and don't want to stress my CV joints chronically. That is why I want to go with coils with less height.

FYI, Mike from AC said the following statements are correct:

> 1. The front 0.5" heavy duty coils you sell are OME heavy load coils.

> 2. The front 0.5" light duty coils you sell are OME light load coils.

> 3. The rear 0.5" heavy duty coils you sell are OME medium load coils.

Thanks! Do you have fender flares and what is your tire size? The most accurate way I know of to compare is to measure from center of hub (to avoid tire size differences) to the bottom of the metal part of the fender lip (which can be found wether you have flares or not). Do you think you could make that measurement in front and rear? I will measure mine when I get home this evening with the AC coils.

Thanks!

I have 34 1/2" from level ground to the bottom of my wheel well up front.

36" front, 36.5" rear. I measured to the metal part of the fender underneath my flares, but I posted pictures of other measurements at http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=11211 which will be more consistent to compare across vehicles. I have 29.5" tires (measured, 30" by specs).
