Strange Light Problems

I'm having an interesting problem with my '01. First, my tail lights only work when I hit the brakes. They don't come on when I turn my headlights on. Second, none of my interior lights (dash, trans, etc.) work when my headlights are on, so basically I can't drive at night. Third, and this is where it gets weird, when I hit the left turn signal all of the interior lights flash in unison. It's like a damn Christmas tree in there when I turn left at night. I searched on here and found some info on fuses and such. I pulled all the fuses that I thought could cause this, but they all looked good. Any ideas? Thanks!

Pull the taillight bulbs and see if the dim fillament is burnt out.

When I blew a taillight, I had all kinds of crazy stuff going on, my high-mount light would flash with the turn signals and come on with the reverse lights, but not with the brakes...the dash lights didn't illuminate. It's all wired in one circuit.

Check all your bulbs and sockets. If there's corrosion in the sockets, or a wire's pulled loose or anything, it could cause all kinds of crazy gremlins.

Actually, come to think of it, the hazard light switch caused me a bunch of grief, too.

I forgot to connect it after installing one of my many different CD players in my truck, and I had no dash lights, no turn signals, no brake lights, NOTHING.

So...adding to the list of things to check:

Light bulbs and sockets.

Relays under the hood

Dimmer switch

Hazard light switch

turn signal switch/wiring

I hope you have a Digital Multimeter!

Thanks for the info guys. Considering I've already cracked my first beer of the day, I'll break out the multimeter tomorrow and get to work.
