chunkster
Might be a stupid question, but would adding a cooler inline with the power steering line be a totally waste of time? I've noticed that the power steering resevoir gets hot. This is just from day to day driving. I can't imagine what it would be like on vehicles that do offroad especially those that negotiate slow steering manuveurs on boulders and rocks. Any ideas or suggestions? Where to install? Thanks, Chunk
88pathoffroad
It would be easy to install a small cooler inline with the reservoir hoses and place the cooler in front of the radiator. Simply buy a lot of new braided hose and some hose clamps, a cooler and spend a few hours doing it. Couldn't hurt. I know of one other person that has one on his Nissan, and he seemed happy with it. chunkster
Thanks for the response! I'll probably spec out a small cooler (a small Flexlite ATF cooler, possibly) and see if this will help. I'll post later after I have it installed. Chunk
88pathoffroad
You could get a small cooler out of a Ford Exploder at a junkyard for about $5 or $10. I have two HD ones from an Exploder in my Pathy for tranny cooling duty.
