  1. Hi everyone, I just ordered my tires and they are on their way. My next to do is to find out whether or not I will need a alignment ...and if I do where to go. My question to all of you - what should I look for in a wheel alignment place....I called around and they all seem to use a computer alignment rack but are there any other things that I should look at or ask for? Thanks.
  2. Hey everyone, The time has come to replace my tires. I'm going back with the OEM tires...BF Dueler H/T 689. I found a pretty good deal on TireRack.com. Here are my questions - Has anyone had any experience with TireRack? Good or Bad? - How to best tell if I need a alignment? - If I do need a alignment ..should I do it with the new tires on or with the old ones? - Are there any other places online that you would recommend for tires? Thanks everyone.

From what the service person was telling me the $150 is for the flush but unless I stand over the technitians shoulder and look on what he is doing ...can I really tell if they do a drain and fill vs. a full flush????? If there is please let me know. I'm just a bit wery of dealers all together so I want to make sure they do what they say they will do. Thanks everyone.

Hi everyone, My 03 LE is creeping up on 50K miles and its due for its second transmission oil change and I called around some local dealers to find out pricing for the service and they all keep telling me that the 03's don't have a trans filter...is that right? BTW - is $150 for a trans oil change reasonable? Thanks.
  5. My apologies for not being clear. What I was referencing to was the adapters that allow you to plug your Ipod into the head unit. And I think I have my answer my the last post. Since I don't have a SAT button on my head unit I'm guess I'm SOL and I have to endure static and poor sound quality for a loooonnnggg time . Thanks guys.
  6. Hi everyone, I have a '03 LE with a Bose radio w/ 6 disc changer and I'm absolutely tired of using my FM transmitter when listening to my Ipod. In interested to hooking up so kind of line in into the radio so that I can plug the Ipod into the radio and have a more clear sound. I read several posts on the site about adapters working on these radios and then there were others who said that adapters don't work. If it wasn't that I don't enjoy throwing money away on things that don't work ....can any of you give some advise whether or not it is possible to SUCCESSFULLY hook up an Ipod to the radio? Thanks.
  7. Hi everyone, Over the last year I saw that my steering wheel (tan color) is deteriorating meaning that the tan is no longer tan but rather black. It seems that the lining is coming off. So I'm looking around for a replacement steering wheel. My question is, since my Pathfinder is a '03 will it only accept '03 steering wheels or will other years work as well? Would a steering wheel from a QX4 work (the one with the wood grain)? Thanks.
  8. Since I had the same issue about 2 months ago with very annoying belts I took the plunge and bought new ones. I no longer have to be embarrassed and have people think that I accidentally stuck a live cat under the hood. I did try the belt dressing but that was a very temporary fix...nothing long term.
  9. How advanced of a job is it to remove the blower motor? Last year I replaced the microfilter which was behind the glove box so how much more work is that to remove the blower motor in comparison? Thanks for the input.
  10. Hi everyone, I recently noticed that when I have the heat on even with medium speed I can hear the fan in the cabin. It sounds like a normal operational noise of the fan but at a higher db level. It is really hard to describe it but it is very distinctive. Can something being loose cause this? Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks. 03 LE
  11. All doors open except the driver's door but they do lock without a problem. If I remember correctly, there really is not a lot of room to work with. I'm hoping that there is someone with some tips or advice. Thanks.
  12. Hi, I took the plunge and purchased a new door lock actuator. I'm planning on replacing it myself and when I first took the door panels off I didn't see a good easy way of replacing the actuators. Is there a good way of replacing this or will this be a very difficult project? Some background info... My door lock on the driver side would not open with the push of the button on the remote (even after two presses). I replaced the battery in the remote and still that didn't fix the problem. So I bought a new door lock actuator. The frustrating thing is that the doors sometimes open and sometimes they don't and it would be nice to have a door that opens all the time Any input will be greatly appreciated. 2003 Pathy LE
  13. Hi again, Since it is now a bit warmer in Chicago (high 70s & 80s) the door seem to open with one push of the button without a problem. But then yet it sometimes doesn't. So it really is a crap shoot whether or not it will open or not. If the actuator would be bad would the door locks ever open fully? I'm willing to fork over the $110 for the part but I want to be sure that it is really broken. Lastly, when I take the door panel off the door what should I expect - is it easy to gain access to the parts inside the door? Thanks
  14. Hi, I was thinking that it could be that something isn't lubricated but when I went to Nissan they told me that its like a "sealed" system and there aren't any parts to lubricate. With that in mind....I'm weary of what to expect when I take the trim off the door....is it easy access to the parts? will I have to peel any kind of plastic shedding on the inside? If its doable then I'm opting to try lubricating some parts. About the lock working separately from the remote....when I use the unlock/lock button on the door the little button that shows whether or not the door is unlocked or locked next to the handle doesn't go to the open position all the way. Meaning that it opens the door but it still needs a manual push to push the button further. So would it be safe to say that the actuator is shot? Thanks.
  15. I tried both remotes ....and still the same issue. Another hint that I forgot to mention is that when it is warm outside I'm sometimes able to have the locks open with one push of the button while on colder days or winter days the remote operations won't work at all. Thanks.
  16. Hi everyone, I have a ongoing issue with my driver side doors. When I press the keyfob(be it once or twice) to unlock the door(s) the door lock doesn't really open. I'm sometimes able to press the button several times to open the door and sometimes I need to insert the key and open the lock manually. I changed the battery in the remote so I'm not sure what else there is to do. I went to the dealer and they think its the actuator for the lock but before I pull the trigger on the purchase and replacement I want to get some input. Is it the actuator or is it something else? Did anyone else have a similar issue? Thanks in advance '03 Pathfinder LE
  17. I replaced the batteries already but that didn't help. I didn't check how the lock unlocks from the inside but I have a feeling its the same thing as with the remote. But its worth a try. I'm open to further suggestions ...if there are any.
  18. Hi everyone, I have a 03 LE and recently the front driver's door lock isn't opening up with the first, or second, or third press of the button on the remote. So...I was thinking to open the door panel and see if I can "grease" something up but I've been told there is nothing to grease up since there are only actuators in the door. I'm trying to get a final opinion whether it is the actuator or not that is causing the lock to open after like 4 clicks...???? Please give me some kind of advice. Much thanks.

  20. HI everyone, I have a '03 and recently on the driver side door when I try to open the door with the remote the door doesn't open and I need to press the button several times. I'm suspecting that something might've gotten loose in the door but I'm not sure what it would be. It locks without a problem but only there is a issue with unlocking. If any of you know the way to fix this issue I would really appreciate some advice before I tear the door open and look inside. Thanks.
  21. Hey everyone, For some time I've been noticing that when I press the unlock button on the remote the door lock doesn't open until the button is re-pressed and then its unlocked. I don't think its major problem but I would appreciate your take on it. In the event that I have to disassemble the door what should I expect. Thanks.
  22. First of all FORDSHO90 must be in the suburbs bc in downtown Chicago its a free for all. People drive putting make up on, reading books, and typing on their blackberry. So....that aside I still stand by my previous comment that Chicago drivers suck. Thanks to all of those who advised me go to the regular parts store ...thanks but no thanks. I remember my friend a while ago tried to put one of those "one size fits all" horn and what ended up happening is that he had NO horn whatsoever. I was asking for a NISSAN horn....maybe like the Titan, or the ARMADA. I'm still open to any further suggestions. Thanks.
  23. Hi everyone, I officially had enough. I live in Chicago and there are a lot of jackasses who don't know how to drive. What drove me to write about this is the fact that today I almost got my entire right side of my pathfinder crushed by some guy in a Civic. Anyways, the question to everyone ----is there a Nissan horn which is a deeper tone than the one on my 03 pathfinder that I can just install---simple swap. Whichever engineer thought that the current horn in the pathfinder is the right one for the car was really wrong. The horn sounds like a roadrunner horn. An SUV like the pathfinder should have a deep--"get the hell out of my way" kinda a tone. -argue- So......is there a horn that I can just swap out??? Thanks.
  24. My 03 Pathfinder has graduated to the 30000 mile club and I was thinking about taking it in to the dealer for 30K service. From the looks of it...it is pretty thourough. THey do the transfer case, diff, micro filter, tire rotation, and oil. Something like that runs around $260. ANy opinions as to how good of a deal it is? Suggestions?? Thanks.
