I want to buy a path 2002 LE with 100000km. They offered me an extended warranty for 1600$ CAN (3 years or 75000km) It cover the engine, transmission, differential, transfer case and all electronic device. So do I have to take it or not????????????????????????????????? Thanks!
-
It's not only the support but the section of the body supporting the radiator... So It's a body job more than a radiator support job... I live in Montreal and they put a lot of salt on the road during winter. The truck has 16 years old so he eat a lot of salt!!!!!!! Yesterday a tried a path 2002 LE and I think I will make a move soon... I'm gone a tried to sell my old beast (390000km!!!!) and still runing fine!!!!! I think that all will fall apart around the engine and he will continue to run forever!!!! I hope it will be the same history with the 2002.

Another problem.... Yesterday I saw that the support hoding the radiator are rusted to dead!! One is gone... Is anybody had this kind of problem and what is the best way to solve it??? It's a path 90. The problem is located under the radiator where it sit on the body. The 2 body section holding the radiator are completely rusted... I start again the check for a replacement truck.... What about a path 2002 LE????

What is the best way to bleed the brakes on a path 90 with rear drum brake????????
-
I went to the garage this mornique and he said that the only solution is to change the master cylinder... He didn't want to bleed the brake becasue he said that it was not the problem... He said it's impossible to have water in the line... He said that there is a leak inside the master cylinder in cold temperature.... What do think about that????
-
Yesterday I parked the truck in the garage overnight and this morning the brake are woring perfectly... So for me there is water in the line somewhere and a bleeding should solve this problem!!!! Thanks again! P.S It was a pain in the ass to drive to the work this morning because of the snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes here it's winter time and it's time to put it in 4x4

My brake work fine but become very slushy when the temperature drop below zero... It's a nissan pathfinder 1990 with about 390000km... I have this problem intermittant since last winter... The oil brake is ok What can cause this kind of problem???? Thanks!
-
I just want to know what is the best interval to change the spark plug. I have a pathfinder 1990. Thanks.

I have a leak from the Y pipe. Last time I went to the muffler shop to change one gasket to solve this... It was Ok for a couple of days and it started to leak again... The flange are too rusty. So, I much it cost about the change all the Y section until the catalyser??? Thanks!

has anybody had tried the vortex valve to save fuel on his Pathfinder??? According to the pub we can save fuel with this simple device! It's just a kind of special shape device you put in the air duct. It implied a spin to the air making the air/fuel mixture better...
-
There is a exaust leak at the Y joint. We clearly see that the gasket is gone... The pipes are rusted but solid enough. So is it possible for a muffler shop to change only the gasket without changing all the Y????

The transmission is out to replace bearing inside. The front seal was out and I had oil leak. I was thinking it was the crank shaft seal but it's not... My question is: do I have to change the crank shaft seal in prevention??? There is 375000km on the engine... I still have the mind: if it's ok, don't touch, leave it like this... What do do you think about that?
-
Is it a big job to change the oil pan gasket?? The transmission is out now for a bearing change inside. So, is it better to change the oil pan gasket in the same time or it can be done latter???
-
Question about the rear seal: Is it a rond (one part) seal or a two demi rond part??? I think it's a rond (one part) seal but I'm not sure. Thanks!
-
For sure, i won't do that myself!!! So it will be a 1000 box repair because the bearing in the tansimission ara also very noisy since a while...Yes it's a manual transmission. The worst thing in that is they change the bearing 3 years ago, so it will be the second time. The first time, they change also the clutch. I don't like these kind of problem because I can't fix that myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have an oil leak and it look's it come from the rear crankshaft seal. Is anybody here had expericenced this problem??? Because I'm not sure the oil is coming from this seal. There is oil under the cross member and on the exaust pipe under the transmission. It's not coming from the oil filter or pressure switch. It's not coming too from the 2 valve cover. It leak only when I drive. When the truck is parked there is no leak. So I want your feedback to have a good idea of the problem. Thanks guys!

Oil leak from the clutch hole in the transmission
chapter replied to chapter's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Well, I thinked about it and I will buy another truck BUT I will keep this one for off road purpose!!!! I will pay for to fix the transmission and seal, put bigger tire on it to do more off road. After I will sell it like an off road truck to try to have more money for it. The truck is in goog shape, it was the family truck for long trip and everything. This truck fail only 2 times: one time it was the coil wire and the second time it was the alternator. It's not too bad on 250000km!!!! (There was 125000km when I bought it). -
Oil leak from the clutch hole in the transmission
chapter replied to chapter's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
The clutch was change 3 years ago when they change bearing inside the tranny... This truck is 16 years old with 375000km on it. So according to you, is it a good idea to put more money to fix the tranny again + rear oil seal + clutch + ??? or the best thing to do is leave it like that and sell it to buy another one???? -
Change Pathfinder for honda pilot 2003???
chapter replied to chapter's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
The Honda Pilot is not small at all according to the specs. It's a 8 passagers suv, it has to be big a bit.... May be you speak about the CRV, is it possible??? -
Hey, My truck is getting tired after 375000km and there is an oil leak from the rear gasket.... I don't want to pay another 1000$ on this truck to fix that... So we are thinking to change it for a Honda Pilot 2003. We have two kids and it is a logic chose I think. BUT I have a lot of difficulties to accept that!!!! My heart say me to keep with the Pathfinder and try to buy a Nissan Pathfinder SE 2001 instead... Any idea about that???

Oil leak from the clutch hole in the transmission
chapter replied to chapter's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
That's I think too... So to solve this they have to remove the transmission and the clutch to change this seal... Do they have to remove something else????? Is it the same job than a clutch change or more complicated???? -
There is a major oil leak under my truck (Pathfinder 90, 375000km). I finally found that the oil is coming from the hole in the transmission for the clutch activation!!! I don't know how is build in the transmission but it's not transmission oil but engine oil?????????? So I don't understand why the oil is coming from there and what is the problem. HELP!!!!!!

Problem solve... Rusted power steering oil pipe replaced....
-
It's power steering oil for sure. It's Dextron II ATF oil, the same thing use in the auto tranny. Mine is standard tranny by the way. There is a leak around the line from the pump to the direction assembly. The line path is behind the radiator and it's hard to see exactly what's going on...
-
Yesterday, I found a oil leak under the radiator... After investigation, I found that it was power steering oil leaking from the hose behind the radiator. Is it a common problem for the Nissan Pathfinder 1990-1995?? It's winter here and I don't want to crawl under the truck... So I go to the garage tomorrow and I have to trust the mechanic... So, I don't want to have to change the pump if it's just a loose clamp.... Thanks!
