  1. Getting it out is fairly simple. First pop out the AC vents by putting a flathead screwdriver in the bottom right hand corner between the vents and the leather covering on the dash. Just simply pry it out, but make sure you're getting the vent piece and not just the plastic molding around it. Next, take out the two exposed screws and pop off the plastic covering on the dash. Now, you will see four screws holding the two pieces the cd changer and head unit are attatched to. Take out those screws, pull out the changer and head unit, detatch the wiring harness, and you're home free. Its really quite simple. It'll make a lot more sense when you just go and try it. Sorry I dont know about it being repaired or not. I despise changers and ebayed mine immediately after I got my pathy. Good luck.
  2. Congrats! It looks great. Thats somewhere down there on my list of things to do... eventually. Nice work.
  3. I fell asleep in the front seat for ten minutes before school one morning. Does that count? But I did camp in my old wagon a few times. I just folded the back seat flat, unplugged my subs and threw the box in the front seat, plugged an aerobed into a power inverter, and WHAMO! It was about the most comfortable thing I'd ever slept on. The diminsions of the bed fit perfectly to the trunk. My pathy looks to be around the same size, so I'm gonna give it a try sometime.
  4. I'm trying to install my subs, but I can't seem to find a suitable place to run the power cable to my amp through the firewall. Can anyone please help me here? I'm gonna go crazy if I don't get some bass real soon! If you have pictures, please post them, or email them to me. That would be really helpful. Thanks everyone.
  5. light bar, eh? I might try to rig up someting like that sometime. I am hopefully going to get a brushguard sometime within the next six months though, so I don't want to do any permanent stuff. I simply can't afford one right now with having just bought the car. But thanks for the tip. As for my webpage, I was afraid it would be hard to read. I guess I'll change the font color or try to watermark the background. Thanks for checkin it out! Sorry the pics suck, I would go take some more, but we're in the middle of a chronic downpour at the moment. Maybe it'll dry up this weekend.
  6. I need a place to mount my Hella 500 driving lights. I am going to put other lights on my rack, so these need to go on the front of the car. The only problem is that I don't have an aftermarket bumper or a brush guard or anything. the best place to me looks like beside the factory fog lights, but I'd have to rig up some crazy way to mount the lights. Anway, any ideas or opinions from you guys would be great. Pictures would be even better. Thanks
  7. Well, I bought a new Clarion DXZ745MP head unit about three weeks ago, and now I have a new car. So, my question is, should I keep the stock Bose 6 disc changer in my pathy, or put in the Clarion? I really would prefer to use the clarion, but I don't know if I would be able to use the steering wheel-mounted controls with it. Also, I've never been a big fan of cd changers, anyway. Also, I have a pair of 10" subs and a 300 watt amp to power, and I don't know if the stock changer will power this or not. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  8. I am transferrings my uniden cb radio and my audiovox Sirius radio from my old car into my Pathfinder, and want to see if any of you having any creative mountings for these items, or ones like them. The car is brand new (to me, at least) so I really want to stay away from drilling holes in the dash. Any ideas are welcome. TIA
  9. Well, i finally ditched my old volvo wagon, as cool as it may have been. I picked up a 2001 Pathfinder SE 4x4 with 32k miles on it earlier today. I needed a good car to take to school next year, and this was the best car out there for me! So hopefully, mods will be coming soon. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello to everyone out there. Cya 'round!
  10. no, the size isn't the problem. I tried going all the way down to 65k, but i still got the same error message. any other ideas?
  11. well, i'm having trouble uploading more pics. here's the error message: "The requested file upload failed. This is either because it was not in the correct format, or the file size was larger than that allowed. Please check the file you wish to upload and try again." Any suggestions?
