  1. Removing the bump stops will make it worse. The inch of clearence is normal for the larger bump stops. The are soft by design. Can't really hold cargo or trailer weight but great for normal driving. There was a TSB for the bottoming out issue. i had larger bump stops added under the TSB. No more botomming out but rear still sags under weight. New aftermarket springs will make your normal driving ride harsher. I recommend installing air springs inside your stock coil springs. You can vary the pressure to suit your load conditions, manually or automatically. Check out Air Lift company products. I was about to install them on my 01LE before we gave it away. Moderately difficult to install. Someone had a nice writeup on the install. This is the more expensive automatic one: http://www.centuryperformance.com/detail.a...ct_id=ARL-65742 There is a manual one that costs half that.
  2. You must remove plastic trim piece adjacent to the fog light. 2 mounting bolts are underneath the black plastic vent looking piece of trim. Use flathead screwdriver wrapped in a towel and insert it into side closest to fog light. Then, gently pry it out to reveal bolts. Pretty simply, just be careful not to damage the paint.

  4. Great posts guys, What type of solenoid was it? I am not familiar with solenoids at all. Where would you buy one? Why would you need two of them? As detailed as you can be, how did you guys install them? Thanks in advance!!
  5. Did you install the hatch release switch? If so, how did you add the hatch release to you Pathy? I am interested in installing one. What year is your Pathy, mine is 2001 LE. Thanks
  6. Oh hell yeah! Expensive but awesome. I had those tires before I got the new set. Those Forteras are flawless in any weather. I took them through snow covered roads bald, and made it without any slipping. If I had the money, I would of gotten them again. Fortera's are awesome. Nice aggressive sidewalls with a smooth and quiet ride. Great in snow, rain, and dry weather with very good treadlife. Bought mine from Discount Tires with $50 rebate from Goodyear, $580.00. As I have read from another previous post/experience, Goodyear sent me another $50 dollar check for a total $100 back, total $480 after reabtes. Must be a computer system glitch. :secret: I have about 15K Fortera miles on my '01LE. P255/70/16. Slight decrease in gas milage and performance but worth it for the higher profile sidewall. Fills out the wheel well nicely.
  7. Unfortunately i am not that mechanically inclined. I found that site searching for solutions to my front end driver's side sag. Dealer says that is normal. Try a google search on the parts the website named. The " 1/4" thick fabreeka shim." Email him, he answers his email. Otherwise, I am sure supension shops can help you there. I still have my OEM suspension on my '01 LE and can live with the 1/4" sag. I dislike how the rear suspension bottoms out even with dealer installed larger rubber bump stops inside the OEM springs. But, OEM suspension does give a nice soft ride without a load/rear passengers. The compromise is acceptable for my situation. When I have the time and $$, i will attempt the suspension upgrade. Whenever that is... Good luck and post your experiences.

  10. Just a thought.....Are your tires/rims OEM size? It may be a tire clearance issue at full lock. Visually inspect tire clearence under those conditions. Press down on corner of car at full lock to see if it rubs against wheel well trim. Good luck
  11. Autozones here in Houston refuse to reset the SES light. Said it was illegal. If it was the correct part to replace then the light will reset itself after a few cycles. Give it a week or so to cycle through ECM test conditions and reset itself. If you can't wait, put key in ignition on the "on" position but do not start. Disconnect negative cable and be careful not to cause too many sparks. Leave for about 20 minutes to drain residual power. Reconnect neg. cable and that should do it. Good luck.
  12. Great job and I agree. I had many things taken care of for my 01 LE by being persistent and determined (calm and professional like you). Eventually the dealer service managers would give up and fix my multiple complaints numerous times. They found a way to take care of it that benefits us both (free of course! ). It involved a lot of service visits and complaints. Opportunity costs, yes, but it is the principal. A lot of time well spent to get what I want.

  14. Check if the Dashboard ADP (auto driver postion) switch is activated. Should be below dimmer switch. Make sure it is not on cancel. If ADP lights up when buttons pressed then that is a good sign. When programming, press button for at least two seconds when assigning seat postions to either 1 or 2. When assigned, press for button for at least 2 seconds to select seat postion. hope that helps! Let me know.
  15. Autozone or Advance will do it free. SES light takes time (cycles) to reset. If it is safe to drive, give it a couple of weeks and two new tanks of gas. Then see if the light is still on. If still on, that means you have something really wrong. Pull codes again. Nissan ECU/PCM is very sensitive (parameters) so there are a lot of false SESs that go away by itslef. Keep the gas cap on tight. My '01 LE experiences that.

  17. If you are referring to the metal rails that slide the sunroof, I suggest using white lithium grease. Great for anything metallic/plastic and squeeking. It lasts a long time and is heat resistant. Do not apply to rubber trim. Use silicon spray for that.
  18. If you have one........be careful with the OEM instructions that comes with the OEM filter. For my 2001 LE it left out one crucial step. You have to remove the horizontal trim piece (2 screws, mine had "Pathfinder" imprinted on the plastic, newer models are probably wood tone only with no print) above the Glove Box after you remove the glove box itself. I did not know until I almost broke that piece off trying to get to the filter.

  20. I bought a Hidden Hitch Class III or IV(rated 5000 lbs, ~$180 shipped). Uhaul installed it for me for $30. I installed the OEM trailer wiring ($48). IMHO it looks the best and you see less of the hitch as compared to other hitch brands including the Nissan OEM hitch. It is a round tube design with very small place for a step. I put a rubber brake pedal pad there and it works fine. Receiver sticks out about 6 inches from bumper. Their FAQ webpage will address a lot of questions for you. I will post a picture later. It was a great value choice for the price, warranty, and look.

  22. You should be able to use Hayes service repair manual (Pep Boys) for the 2001. I have it and I have 01LE. Should be able to use for 2002 since pathies changed only slightly interior/ext. wise.
  23. Try replacing with Sythetic ATF. I did and it shifts a lot smoother than with conventional ATF. I used Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF for '01 LE. 25K miles so far and no problems at all. Check out previous tranny posts for DIY directions. ATF change and PCM reset and it will be like a new/better transmission.
  24. Try this informative site. Pathies suffer from the front end lean. Dealer told me it was within factory specs. My '01 LE had a 1/4" to 1/2" sag on drivers side. http://members.cox.net/mainpages/index.htm
