  1. also the fuel lines will likely be too short and you may have to relocate the filter if its in the engine compartment like in the v6 and if you are a manual the clutch fluid lines will need to be stretched on the passenger side firewall as well...
  2. You can find GL-4 only oil at a nissan dealer of all places...
  3. I have been getting about 180 for years with stock 31s. I also think my 89 has a 19 gallon tank as well as I ran out a while back and it only took about 19 to fill it.. do the multiport motors get better mileage than us tbi motors?
  4. Would you think that I would need to advance or retard the timing?

    body lift

A whole helluva lot of time, lots of beer and at least one friend...oh and a garage incase it rains. And if you are as unlucky as I was a hole in the ground to stick a piece of steel in the ground to winch the body backwards by the tire carrier to make it sit right on the frame....
  6. Well I'm glad its not only me anyway...Still I wish I could figure ot out. Its really loud on my truck with the headers and exhaust. Maybe if I could figure out a way to increase the backpressure it might lessen it. What do you guys think?
  7. I have a complete wiring harness from the engine and computer from a 91 vg30e if you are interested. originally I was going to do the swap of the entire intake manifolds, throttle body etc, have all the parts, just dont think i will ever have the time. If you want it let me know. Eric
  8. 2 questions 88: do you have any sort of backfireing or any wierd popping noises around 1500 Rpm on decelleration? and are you auto or manual? I have a manual and it has been doing that for years just wondering if it could be your clogged spot before I take it all apart...
  9. The headers will not fit easily as the 90+ pathys have a flange on them and the bend is different and this will hit the frame crossmember that is different on the 90 and up. It is much farther forward,so unless you are good at bending and welding I would suggest you find a set made for an 89( how do I know this, because I had the same problem and bought the 90+ header anyway as a last resort....It didnt work) Hope you get the message in enough time.
  10. Going to get a manual in the next few days. The only code I have ever gotten was an injector leak. I got it once when I changed the injuctor about 4 years ago and the again about 3 months ago the CEL came on though I never got a chance to check the codes. But both times it went away without my doing anything. If I remember correctly I had tried to take off the EGR valve once before and was unable to do so because the threaded posts that it has to slide off of are too long to get it off. It hits the firewall before it can come off the posts.I am assuming then that I need to remove the whole intake to do this or can I get away with just loosening it enough to slide it away from the back of the intake manifold? Sorry for the long post...
  11. Ok I havent checked the codes in a while or checked the egr valve operation ( you know, push on the bottom of the valve till the engine stumbles) in about a year and a half. So how do I go about cleaning out the egr passages in the motor? also is the declleration valve the same thing as the ab valve?
  12. My 89 Pathy (V6 5 speed, 4x4) has been backfiring through the intake for a few years now...Only on deceleration, accelleration is totally fine. I have a set of Pacesetter headers K&N filter and a Borla catback on it. Had someone check the timing, Changed the thermostat, AB valve,PCV Valve, vacuum lines, air filter, the little breather filter inside the air cleaner....still doing it. It is actually blowing oil out of the K&N filter all over the inside of the air cleaner housing. It happens right at 1500 RPM consistently. I am totally out of ideas. I have been chasing the problem for about 3 years now, just throwing money at it and I still have no answers...
  13. what years do they make headers for?
