    Brake Noise

Ok, next question - is it better to run with the shims or not? Any problems that can occur from not using them? Thanks again!

    Brake Noise

Good Morning, "Brake noise: A high-pitched squeal or whistle from the area of the front brakes is eliminated by replacing the baffle plate on both sides. (1996-98)" Can anyone :help: me in replacing the baffle plates myself? I cannot find any documentation on them online... Thank you, ~jrvanas
  4. Well, As you know there is not much on the market for aftermakerket products for a pathy. I have an '01 pathy and I should have the below intake by this coming Friday and hopefully installed the same night after I get outta work...its the same model from '01 to '03. Air Intake As far as a exhaust -> I am open to suggestions bc that is my next step. ~jrvanas
  5. I'm having the same problem on my 01 pathy. I have had 4 mechanics at Nissan look - no luck. My brother is a Car and Airplane mechanic - he is flying out tonight - I will have him look at it and let you know...
  6. Even with computer testing you can still bribe. Before my pathy I had a civic dropped 2 inches, no license plate - In Mass this is illegal because the bumber is lower then a person's knees and you need a plate in the front and back. I came during lunch and before I even drove into the bay I had a sticker. I got pulled over and the sticker still checked out with the cops. Well no more of that since I got my pathy - love it btw! :cool2:
  7. Thanks for the update! I'll think about your request for a lift or skid plate... heehee
  8. Thanks for the post...have they blown yet? I don't like the thought of buying $50 bulbs that are going to blow in 6 months...Do you have stock headlights? I'm eventually getting HID's - should look mean!
  9. Hey everyone, Well I finally got the answer - it is possible - for about $50.00. PIAA makes the bulbs... PIAA H3 Ion Crystal 55w Link to purchase bulbs Steps to replace - I will have pics once I get the bulbs... 1> Remove the plastic piece next to the fog light by prying with a screw driver (piece pops out) 2> Remove 2 bolts holding fog light in. 3> Change bulb 4> Put bolts back in 5> Pop plastic piece back in and your in business. Hope this helps everyone - I know a couple people had contacted me via email and I took a look on my lunch break and this past weekend. ~jrvanas

    Clunk Noise

Thanks guys, I am going to lift the car this weekend and see if I see any obstructions. I can have someone turn the wheel while I listen and look. For the wheel bearings - is there an esy way to tell if they are shot? Thanks JV

    Clunk Noise

Hello everyone, As an FYI - I have looked at other posts and have seen some material surrouding this topic - but Nissan is explaining something different... 2 problems: 1 - 'clunk' at low speeds when turning wheel 2 - 'high pitch' from front end while driving 1> When turning the wheel at low speeds I am hearing and feelings a 'clunk' from the front end. I have read that it might be the steering stops (however the 01 pathy does not have them according to the mechanic). 2> While driving next to a wall or parked cars I am hearing a high pitch squel. I read that it might be the dust boots. Nissan is telling me that my brakes are brand new (I bought the used car 6 months ago) so the pads are not low. He said that I would have to replace the brakes to fix the noise - I dont think the whole pad assembly needs to be replaced. Any thoughts from anyone? Should I try a new Nissan dealership and let them look at it? Thanks! `JV'
  13. I'm looking into that - but it looks like I have to take off the bumper to get to the screws. I beleive it is a one piece design - I will check it out this weekend when I am changing my oil and keep everyone posted - thanks for the info...
  14. Does anyone know where I can find some yellow fog logs for my 2001 Pathfinder? I currently have the stock white - I am looking for fogs to replace the current ones in the stock location. Any help would be grateful!
  15. I totally agree with the gain. I'm not really worried about HP - if anything I will get <2HP to the wheels. Does the fuel estimate sound right?
  16. Hello everyone, I am thinking of getting an air induction system for my 2001 pathy. I have only found one air induction system for this model. Can anyone provide feedback on the intake system or even cons to a intake. Mostly I was conserned with the mass air flow sesnor... I have attahached the link for the product... Air Induction System Look near bottom for Pathfinder model.... Thanks! JV
