I had the same problem. After replacing the MAF sensor, throttle position sensor, wires and cap it turned out to be the distributor. Pull the cap off to see if there is any signs of rust.

Can anyone tell me if the stock aluminum tube steps from my 98 Chilkoot will fit a 99.5 Pathy? They are both R50's no? Thanks
