  1. Every time it rains the carpet in my Pathfinders cargo area gets wet. I believe rain is leaking in from the rear hatch window weather strip. The weatherstrip does not appear to be torn or dry rotted. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and fixed it.
  2. I take it offroad only occasionally. Is the CL easy enough to swap out that I could use the mod offroad and the stock on road? Does it need an alignment after swaping.
  3. Is it true that altering the steering components is illeagal? I do drive this Pathy on the road.
  4. Is there a way to check the centrelink to determine if it needs to be replaced?
  5. Might I suggest one thread for those involved in this expiriment to post their progress and findings. A separate thread for people to debate over whether or not it will work.
  6. Is it necessary to pull the engine from the Pathfinder too replace the rear main seal? 1991 Pathfinder XE, 4WD
  7. After working at it for 4 hours I finally managed to get the drum off the brake shoes and I found that a spring was not intalled quite right (I don't know what the spring is called, but it keeps a metal piece in contact with the star wheel). I corrected that and can now pull up the parking brake handle. Next quetion, 'With the adjuster screw fully retracted should the brake drum slide on easily?' I am trying to figure out if I have the wrong shoes for my vehicle. They seemed to be identical to the old ones, but perhaps I misjudged them. I don't think it should be so tight with adjuster fully retacted.
  8. I know I attached the cables thats all thats keeping the drum from pulling of now. I tried using two bolts, while in the process of doing this one of the pins popped out of the hold down spring, then the other one popped out as my brother tried to pry it off with a crow bar. It is as though the parking brake is set, but the handle is all the way down.
  9. I recently changed my brake shoes ('91, XE, 4WD). After changing the shoes I could not set the parking brake and now I can not get the drake drum off to find out what I did wrong.
  10. After doing some research and looking at pictures I figured out where I messed-up during installation. 1. I did not have the wheels on the ground. 2 I did not have the proper angle for the rear ancors before inserting torsion bars. I reinstalled, problem solved.
  11. I have a 91 Pathfinder 4WD. I replaced the torsion bars, the front and rear shocks and the springs. I checked all the part numbers before intalling them to verify that they were as they should be, but after installing the right side is higher than the left side. I swaped the springs from the left to the right to see if that would make a difference, nothing changed. Any suggestions on what the problem may be?
