  1. Do you guys have any tricks to get rusted bolts out from the exhaust? I do not want to strip them but i need them out..

I had the same problem below the driver's floor pan right my the oxygen sensor, after using Liquid Wrench and tapping it a few times, it came out using a 6 sided socket on a universal. The bolts were trashed, and I ended up replacing them with new ones. Inspect the area of the exhaust gasket, if it is slightly warped you may end up replacing that gasket again. The space was cramped, and it seemed like it took an hour to get the bolt on the engine side in as I could only get about a quarter turn each time....

    Hope that helps,

  2. does anyone have a pic of the mechanism that I need to adjust to let the slack off so I can replace the belt,or maybe just a heads up at what I should be looking at?

    thanks,Mike.

According to my manual, the power steering pump pulley should have and adjusting bolt and a pivot bolt (same piece, pivot is on the side of the adjusting bolt). Both need to be loosened to move the power steering pump/pully to loosen the tension on the belt. Unfortunately, I do not have a pic and am headed out or I would scan it for you. This is on the v-6 engine by the way. I hope this helps.....

  3. Hey all,

Have a problem with my Terrano's automatic transmission - it doesn't want to shift past third gear. Engaging or disengaging overdrive has no effect either. It is the stock four speed with overdrive box. Took it to an automatic transmission specialist and they said there's nothing wrong with the box itself - more likely to be the ECU/ECM in the vehicle. Any ideas? Also, where is the ECU/ECM in a 92, there's a silver box under the driver's seat...?

    Ta,

    Hi Russ,

I have had a 1993 and a currently own a 1992 Pathy SE, both had to have trannys replaced unfortunately. So I have to agree with Packie88, you may need a new trans.

    Sorry, Boot :crossedwires:

  4. Sounds like you have a Voltage regulator going out. Its on the back of the cluster and its 5 screws to replace it. It usually takes out the temp and fuel gauges when it goes bad.

Thanks for the info, wide range of prices..., 1 dealer want $130, another $60, I finally found a dealer that had one for $45 including shipping....lol

  5. My guages stopped working, for a while they would work on and off, especially the gas guage. Later, the gas guage and the temperature guage stopped working but Oil and speedo work fine. I have checked all of the fuses, and they look fine. My electric door locks have stopped working also....Has anyone else had a similar problem?

    Thanks, Boot

  7. Just wanted to say hi all! I have a 1992 Pathfinder SE 4X4 that I bought used in 1992, sold in 1997, and bought back in 2000. My eldest son finally talked me into going off road about 2 months ago and I discovered that I loved it! I just had it in the snow over the weekend and the larger, lifted trucks were amazed at how my Pathfinder was able to go places they didn't believe it would go....Hope to chat with many of you in the future, I plan to do some off road customizing in the near future so any advice you can give would be appreciated. I am currently looking at doing a 4 inch lift so I was wondering what are the best kits and tire sizes to accomplish the lift effectively? Anyways, talk to you all soon!!!
