  1. Thanks so much! That was exactly what I needed. I just cut the starter wires going in, and spliced them together. Starts right up now. This also solved an issue that I had with an intermittent starting problem. (Sometimes it took me 10 tries to start my vehicle). I guess that was a security system issue as well. Thanks again, Mitch
  2. Ok... I have unhooked the main bracket to this alarm unit, but my car will not start now. I have to plug it back in to get it to start. I am sure this is planned, but can't find anyone having the same issue here. All I want to do is completely unhook this alarm system, as it has been going off randomly lately. Is there some splicing or something I have to do to get communication back to the starter? Thanks, Mitch
  3. 94 XE here. 123K miles. Is there any indicator light to show if my O2 sensor is bad? Trying to improve my terrible mileage. Already done spark plugs/air filter/fuel filter. I was wondering if I should do the O2 sensor as well, but no lights on my dash indicate anything. Thanks, Mitch
  4. Hello, I just recently purchased my first pathfinder (Used 94 XE - 120k miles - V6 3.0L 4WD). I drove it home about 15 hours, no problem. But I got about 13-14 mpg on the interstate. Combine that with some slight hesitation I felt the other day after startup, and I feel that it's a good idea to change the spark plugs/wires out. So I take it in to my local Firestone, and they quote me ~$350. Is this a huge ordeal? I am no expert, but I did change the plugs/wires several times in my last vehicle (94 Passport). Are there any guides on here or online about this? Any hints to special tools or anything I would need to do this myself? I have searched in this forum, but didn't see anything specific to this. Thanks
