Hmmm maybe! Press gas and brake while in drive or park? I only hear it when in drive and at a complete stop and the wheel is slightly turned either way. Sometimes without turning the wheel. Thanks at least I know I won't break down.

Anyone have any ideas? Is it safe to keep driving my truck? I really need some imput here. Thanks

When my truck is in DRIVE and I’m at a complete stop I hear a rattling sound coming from my dashboard. I hear this more when I turn the steering wheel left or right. Does anyone have any idea on what it can be?

I had a problem with 2 types of Bosch and 1 type of NGK's. I was lucky that Advance Discount Auto took them back. The manager at the store said since I have over 150000 miles that I should use the orginals. Who knows maybe its just my truck.

Once you get the tool on it it will work fine. It took me some time to get it done. My hand didn't fit and I got scapes on my hand. Its not easy but after a few tries you will get it. I actually climbed on top of the engine. Also what i did find out that my 97 Pathinder only works good with NGK regular plugs. I tried better NGK's and bosch and my truck would backfire. Have fun!!!!!

Yes thats the actual pic of my truck. I have a radar, car radio, xm radio & phone charger plugged in at all times. No upscale audio system. oh yeah I run my A/C a lot since I live in Florida. All items are plugged to a multiple outlet. Is that good for the ALT?

Whats the differnce between a 90 & 110 besides the amps? please give me an example. like will it die quicker, not start right. I have the part number and will look up which one I have. I also had new brakes put in (ceramic). less brake dust cleaning...I hope. Thanks,

My lights came on again. I'm currently having the ALT replaced. Is a Bosch ALT good? I know the bosch spark plugs didn't work in my truck.

I took the advice of the dealer and checked the connectors as he mentioned. After disconnecting and re connecting the connectors I haven't had the lights come on since Friday April 4. I took it yesterday to Advanced Auto parts and they tested it. The computer said theres nothing wrong with it. Any suggestions on what could have been the problem? Thank you all for your help.

I just called a place that rebuilds them. They are charging me $233 to remove, rebuild and install with a year warranty. Is that a good deal?

I have the same problem. My brake and battery light came on for a few seconds and turned off. I only have this alternator for two years. When the original died all the lights dimmed. Yesterday it did it more when I turned the A/C on. Plus it only happens while the car is moving.

Do you think the test auto parts stores do are good? I know Advance discount auto test them. How much longer do you think I have before it dies? I spoke to the service dept at a Nissan dealer and he said that it might just be the ground. How do I check that? I was also told to check the connector to see ifit's dirty or loose. The dealer wants almost $500 parts & labor.

What are the chances that its the battery? I also had all the belts replaced in Feb/08. Could it still be the tension? The light came on last night on my drive home. As soon as I turned on the A/C.

That stinks I just got one 2 years ago.

I was driving home today and while the truck was moving the Battery light and Brake light came on. It only did it once and I turned the A/C and radio off. I waited 2 mins and turned the A/C & radio back on. It didn't happen again. Hopefully it won't happen tomorrow. Does anyone know why this could of happen? 1997 LE Thanks

thanks for the info. What kind of brake pads are good that don't throw a lot of brake dust? Nissan wanted 298 to change the brakes and around my way places want 79 for cheap pads.

Is it hard to change the Brake pads? If not where can I get information on changing brake pads for a 1997 Pathfinder LE? What brake pads do you reccomend? thanks

I will use 87 an once a month throw in some Sea Foam which is a great injector cleaner. I got it at advanced auto parts.

I will begin to use 87 from Chevron & Shell since they all have the same amount of detergent. Depends who is cheaper the day I fill up.

Great information. I guess I will stick with Shell 93 and Chevron 93 which ever cost less. Do you think 87 and 89 have the same amount of Detergent Gasoline? The site says it should, but you never know.

I used Sea Foam for cleaning the injectors which I got at advanced auto parts. I'm going to use 89 after my next 2 fillups. A combination of Shell 93 and Sea Foam got rid of the skipping beat. You can see what the problem was from my old post "What is a Knock sensor". I don't know if the gas or Sea Foam stop the problem but is gone. I also changed the fuel filter.

Which is better gas to use. Shell 93 or BP 93 octane?

I had used gas from BJ's Wholesale club (for 5 years-87 Octane) because it was on my way to work. I have to detour about 2 miles for a Shell, but it will be worth it now. What do you think of Shells 87 and 89 Octane? Will they also clean my injecters?

The fuel filter has been changed. It was so dirty!!!! Its been now 4 days since I added Shell 93 V-Power and Sea Foam. one day since changeing the fuel filter and it seems like the problem is gone. I filled up again with the same gas today. I will do this for a month and hopefully it was the injectors that were dirty. I will keep you all posted. Thanks for the great help.
