regarding the dash lights; whats the battery voltage when idling as well as >2k RPM? sometimes a failing alternator causes the dash to light up. there are lots of ways to "fix" an alternator if that is the problem

ah in that case, trade the pathfinder for a trailer
-
haha i said the something along the same line when i joined this forum

welcome, listen to pezzy, she knows
when it's available, you should add a rear lockright locker between the skids and lift. They are great for running trails

give your cousin a collective smack on the back of the head from npora
now that you can get it running, why sell it? is it not a 4x4 model?
getting a utility trailer is cheaper than a new truck

i would get insulated coveralls. heat lamps work good to keep your hand tools warm

you should be able to hear the pump whirring for a few seconds after you turn the key to ACC or Start. try jumpstarting with the jeep and see if you can at least get it running. im not sure, but I think the truck will run without an alternator and good battery as long as you have the jumper cables hooked up with a working vehicle.
My guess is you need a new battery and you should test that alternator. If it fried a ground wire, the voltage regulator might be gone, or it has a dead short in it somewhere.

lockright lockers work great lockers

sorry, i had to rewrite my response

negative backspace is the same as negative offset. The number denotes how far the mounting surface is from the center of the wheel

right on, i love black trucks in the snow

mmm paint doesn't stick to chrome very well. I would take them to get sandblasted, then prime and paint them.

i like the rancho 5112's. I have 5124's on the front to match. You gain a little more rear articulation with them and they provide a decent ride. I don;'t know if you had a 3" body lift, but if you do, you will have to figure out how to lower the parking brake anchors on the body so they don't stretch with your new found articulation.
The factory adjustable shocks were charged with a metallic liquid that would get stiffer depending on how strong of an electric current that passes through it. At least that's how I think they worked.

those shows suck!
I love Stacey David's Gearz. He used to host a couple shows on powerblock, but i am glad he has his own show on speed now.

looks like it fits well!
damn gas is expensive there too

Ah Tex, the city is crumbling all around you yet you still have time to make a TOTM vote thread. Thanks mate!

i'd be interested in one as well. dowser, we could go splits on shipping and meet up somewhere in between

sweet, glad you guys made it through that. I was watching the news last night when ........ when down, there is some pretty crazy footage flying around the tubes right now.

put it on the hood like the old land rovers

it would be so annoying to have to lift things over the spare tire when loading the trunk, i am glad my carrier swings out of the way (I use the rear cargo area a lot). I wouldn't do a roof mount either. Simon had one on there and didn't like the way it changed the COG. It wouldn't be easy to wrestle a 35" tire up there either.
If the carrier is properly designed, the load will be spread over 2 points - the hinge (or hinges incase of the stock unit) and the area where it latches together opposite the hinge. The only time the hinges take all the weight is when you have the carrier opened and hopefully you're not moving. IMO swingout is the best design, which is why i kept mine and slightly modified it.
i drilled new spare tire mounting holes to move my spare up another inch or so, but you could go higher (except it will interfere with the glass hatch). I will hit the bumper before I hit the tire, but i wouldn't mind a little more height in your case. those rock trails you run are very lumpy.
If you still dont want a swing out, i would build a bumper/carrier with a hinge in the middle of the bumper. attach a long arm to it and mount the tire on the end of the arm. Then figure out a way to lock the arm in 3 positions (high, mid and low). Kinda like a clock face with only one arm and a tire on the end of it, you know?

make friends with your local crane operator they always have lots of old extra slings and straps that are overkill for anything we would use them for. I have 4 or 5 of them in the basement, my friend gives me a couple new ones every year! They don't pass safety (too old, etc.) for commercial crane use, but they are usually in great shape for trail use

i bought it for my younger brother for christmas and we've both been having a lot of fun. The online racing is awesome and you can totally tell when someone is using a racing wheel. We ditched the ikea chair and used the driver's seat out of my brother's MR2 on a wood base for mounting the steering wheel and gear shifter. It's pretty advantageous to have the g25 wheel with that setup, and outside of no g-forces, it's so realistic and precise. I couldn't imagine going back to a controller to play racing games, like I am with console FPS'ers.
My favorite car is a black 3400s, but it can't keep up with the guys driving LM and race cars (unless they make a big mistake!). Any other car hanging around 4-500hp gets rocked by the little 3400. I don't know what a spec level we're at, it's somewhere in the high 20's. we haven't touched b spec mode yet
im a bit bummed with the choice of tracks and new cars, but to me, it seems this series is constantly being updated.
on a side note, if you guys like FPS games, try playing battlefield bad company 2. i like it so much better than the COD series because of the co op online multiplayer. It much more important to support your teammates and it has so much more depth than the COD games. I got blackops for christmas and i've played it all of 20 minutes since then. Mind you this is all on PC, not xbox or ps3. i havent played either on a console yet
