  1. Thanks for your help!

I just went and pulled the hatch out and it was surprisingly easy. When I reinstall, what type of adhesive should I use on the hinges?

Is the rear hatch lock as easy as the door locks to replace?? Id like to just take the lock from the old hatch and put it in the new one.

  2. A whole rear hatch for $35? wow thats cheap! I know there are 3 or 4 pathfinders at the Pick N Pull in Edmonton, depending on where you are it may be worth checking out. Not black as far as I remember, but depending on their price you could always paint it or have it painted.

This is all kinda new to me. How do I get good results from a home paint job? Steps? Preparation? Tools (sanding)? Or can I just paint right over the old colour (I'll be painting it black)?

I have no painting tools, so I'd probably spray paint it with colour matching paint. What would a shop charge to paint just the rear hatch?

  3. You can go up to a 31x10.5 r15 on those. For on/offroad use, the BFG AT KO's are a popular, and good choice. Nice look to them as well.

I was looking at these rims. I know they aren't Alum/alloy but they look nice.

Would I have to buy 2 of one kind and 2 of the other (for front and back)?

  4. My tachometer is inconsistent. Occasionally it works properly, but eventually, every drive, it starts not functioning properly. It becomes kinda jumpy and then it ends up just staying at about 1000rpm (bouncing around a little). Is this something that I can repair?

  5. Actually, the tires are P235/75 R15. I tired to upload a pic of my rims but it wouldn't let me! Here's the same rim I have off the net:

What are some "cool" tires that will fit on these? Cool as in, kinda aggressive looking. Also, If I decide to paint my rims, is there a special rim paint I should use?

  6. My "significant other" has our '94 Pathy right now so I gotta ask a couple mind-numb 'rs. Bear with me.

-What size are stock Pathy (94) steel wheels. Mine are the chrome ones. My memory says P215/75 R15 but I'm not 100%.

-Can someone point me in the direction of some good wheels/rims for 94 pathy's. My knowledge of aftermarket rims is minimal at best. I just want some decent looking rims that won't rust.

-What size(s) of tires will work with my existing OEM rims? Obviously they must fit the rim size (which I thought was 15"), but what about width/aspect ratio?

    Thanks in advance

  7. adjust it...theres a turn buckle on the underside...follow the cables back to where they join into one and you'll find it...just PB it up B4 trying to tighten it...

I think you could also check the drums to make sure the shoes are set properly...

    Geaux Tigers :jig:

I have the same problem. My e-brake feels like it's not attached. What tools do I need to fix this? (What does PB it mean in the quote above?)

  8. Well, that depends on what you want it to look like. Personally, I've done some bodywork on my truck, and while I notice it's not flawless, I've never really had anyone else comment on it. Which means it's probably good enough.

That's not a bush guard on my truck. It's an ARB bumper. They're available all over, from many different 4x4 shops. They're not cheap, however. ~$750 USD. It's a heavy chunk of steel, designed to house a winch, which I don't, yet, own. :)

Wow! I guess I'll wait on picking up an ARB Bumper then.

I forgot to ask you about your fender flare and wheels too. It was a long night last night  .

I just have the stock, steel wheels on mine right now (chrome). What wheels to you have (size)? Where did you get them? And where do you get those cool fender flares too?

  9. 1 -2 Yes

The others, I'm not sure, though, the plastic piece should fit.

Thanks again Simon for more excellent advice. Is it fairly easy to put the top brake light from my '94 onto the '92's rear hitch? Will I need to drill holes? From your experience, should I get the hatch repainted professionally or can I do it myself with a paint matching system?

    Seriously, thanks for your help!

Oh yeah, where did you get that awesome bush guard from on your PF? I'd love to get one!

  10. 3 things:

    1. Thank you so much for your help

    2. Malfunction in my ABS system? What kind of malfunction? The brakes seem to work fine right now. Haven't felt the ABS come on yet.....but it's hard to test before the snow falls. What can I do to fix this problem?

    3. Is this broken stud easy to replace? What size of bolt? How do I get the broken piece out? Do I need to get under the truck to replace this?

  11. I just bought a used 94 PF XE with 215K on it. When my PF first starts, and I begin driving and going through the gears (standard Trans), there is a strange kind of spinning, 'lawnmower', putting noise when I push on the gas. The noise increases as I push the gas harder. Actually, it sounds like a baseball card hitting the spokes of a bicycle.

The noise seems to dissipate and after a while (10mins approx). Have you guys heard this before? What is causing this noise and how do I fix it?

Oh and a quick second question: The ABS indicator light is constantly on on my console. Is it suppost to be on all the time?

  12. I have the opportunity to buy a rear hatch from a '92 PF to replace my '94 rear hatch that is dented.

The '92 hatch is in good shape, no rust. The plastic 'pathfinder' piece that goes across the back is partly detached but the one on my existing hatch is fine.

IMPORTANT: My 94' PF hatch has a brake light/washer fluid jet at the top of the hatch. The '92 I'm thinking about buying does not. It only has a washer fluid jet, right in the center.

    Here are my questions:

    1. Will a hatch from a '92 PF fit on a '94 PF?

    2. Will I be able to take the top brake light off my existing hatch ('94 and put it on the '92 hatch? Are there compatability issues? I have a '94 XE - Black. The hatch is from a '92 SE - Red Wine.

    3. Will I be able to use my plastic 'pathfinder' panel on the '92 hatch? Is it easy to remove/put on?

    4. How much (estimate) would it cost to repaint this part?

If someone could answer me asap, it would be great. The part might sell quickly.

    Thanks in advance
