Upstream Oxygen Sensor replacement 1996 Pathy
ardavis78 replied to ardavis78's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Thanks a lot...I'll check it out! -
I have a 1996 Pathy and it is coming up with a P0141(O2 Sensor B1S2 Heater Problem)...I am assuming this means a bad oxy sensor front/right side...I looked it over and there is a heat shield partially covering it...Has anyone else had to change one of these?...Do you just bend the shield back or does it require removal? Will an oxygen sensor socket work with this?....Any instructions would help greatly...Thanks...Feel free to email at ardavis78@live.com

My struts and shocks are shot, so I was looking into a lift. AC has a few different options and I've heard Rancho struts are the way to go over KYB. I work at an auto parts store and in the Rancho catalog, it says the struts offered by AC are for a stock susp. w/ no lift. I only go off road and play occasionally. Why can't I just buy stock Monroe struts for the front and longer travel Ranchos for the rear? I really don't need a high-performance strut cuz I'm not off road much. Gimme your opinion...I'm open to suggestions. Thanks a lot!!! (I've asked a cpl. of people on here personally, I'd still like their opinions too...thanks again!!!)

I live in NW Ohio and recently took my Pathy to get all of this fun stuff fixed. I had a leaky w/p so they replaced it. Also replaced timing belt, hoses, t-stat, cam and crank seals, belts, etc. It cost me $275.00 w/ tax for labor and $125.00 for parts. I thought that was fair. It took 'em a day...prolly woulda taken me 2.

The 2 prong coolant sensor I changed was on the thermostat housing. 19mm wrench is all you need. Cost bout 20 bucks.

I'll give 'em a try! Thanks a lot!!!

I've got a '96 Pathy w/ approx. 125,000 miles on it. My gas mileage never was that great, but I am recently getting about 10 -11 mpg. I just replaced my plugs and air filter(K&N). I thought that would make a big difference because the gap was approx. .080 on the old plugs(new are gapped @ .040) ,but nothing. I know about the oxygenated gas in the winter, but this is awful. My check engine light isn't on and the truck runs very well. Any hints maybe? I even installed manual hubs too. Any little tips or tricks would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I ended up getting Kumho Road Venture KL-78 tires. Cheap($115 ea.), fairly aggressive, yet quiet. Very light dub rub at full lock. I haven't got a chance to go play yet. We'll see. Thanks for all the info everyone!!!

Screw gas mileage...let's talk more about these street drugs/narcotics and how they are made...LOL

manual locking hubs...need your opinions
ardavis78 replied to laxman0324's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
It's cake to do!! So easy a caveman could do it! I just put my new hubs, wheels and tires on. Looks great!! Took me like an hour and a half. I'll try to get some pics soon. Maybe a lift soon. I dunno. -
NismoSky turned me onto that Rola rack fron etrailer...It's pretty nice....99 cent shipping too!!!

All i can tell you is use an electronic boost controller instead of a manual one...I've had a problem with manual boost controllers bleeding and giving me spikes....I have a friend who has a mid 90's dodge 4x4 with a cummins diesel....stacked twin turbos pieced together from peterbilts, and an intercooler donated from a kenworth. 1400lb. ft. torque / 800 hp. He machined his own parts. Stock stroke/displacement/cam. We can be going 70 mph and stab the gas and the tires easily break loose...it's stupid....hi 10's in the 1/4 mile

Oh yeah...the wheels I got have a backspace of 4.5"...thanks again

I've got a 1996 Pathy w/ stock suspension. I just scored some 16" Mickey Thompson Classic II's. I need to know what the largest size tire I can go with on these 16's. I've heard on here, that with the stock 15" wheels I can go with a 31 x 10.5 with minor rub. Would a comparable tire be a 265/70/16? Please help me out a lil...I'm ready to buy...I'm considering Bridgestone Dueler Revo's....Any feedback about them? Mostly road driving....occasional trails and mud. Thanks so much!!!
