  1. IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!111!!! Replaced plugs (pics to come, trust me, they are hilarious) Replaced Fuel Filter Replaced rotor cap and dizzy cap Replaced air filter Now the truck runs like a champ...just need to fix the exhaust leak!
  2. The Fram part number for your rig is PH7317. If you choose to, you can actually install a larger oil filter. The part number is PH3593A Twice the capacity.
  3. My wife and I just put our names down for the V8 Pathfinder LE
  4. There are some ways to help with your gas mileage. One of my Subarus has a VERY short and VERY cold air intake....this helped on mileage, it's also bloody loud! LOL This same car also has a lightened crankshaft pulley and flywheel...this too helped, it also spun the engine upto speed faster, helped out on horsepower (reducing rotating mass helps dramatically) bt it does have trouble maintaining an idle due to the fact there is not much momentum keeping the engine turning. Another one is to wheel your rig into a JiffyLube or place like that and get the Fuel SYSTEM (not injector) Clean performed.....this works wonders. It won't increase your gas mileage to MORE then what it sohuld be but it will certainly help restore it. My Subaru was rated for 23 around town and 27 on the highway.....after I was done with it my wife could 34mpg on the highway in a 99 Subaru Outback. I personally could still never get any better 19 ROFL
  5. I'm really surprised to read that your fans are still running at 20A at full speed. Upgrading your cables to the fans and from the battery to ground and the alt to batt should help improve this situation. Throwing a capacitor in there might alleviate the problem but only slightly. It's more like a band-aid to a bigger issue. All my vehicles run with the big three upgrade, higher Ampere battery and upgraded alternator. If I can't find a better quality alternator for a car then I re-wire the alternator into Delta wiring form. It means my voltage drops a little but I can have a much higher current draw from the same alternator.
  6. So long as you never intend to use your warranty on the vehicle...then go for it! But seriously, do you really want to leave that oil in your engine for that long? Will the oil filter withstand it? To a 15,000 mile oil change interval I say a big fat no! lol but then again, it's not my car Besides, your going to have to keep an eye on the oil level after awhile, buy a quart every now and again to top it off and replace the oil filter in that period perhaps once or twice. The only reason I see people do this is to save money. If you can afford an 07 Pathfinder...you can afford to take proper care of your vehicle with regular scheduled oil changes I hope that didn't come out the wrong way LOL
  7. In all honesty, I live in Minnesota...I know how and where to look for rust and I can cope with this! LOL At some point in time the truck has been rust proofed which has helped the cancer cause considerably. Rule no 1 when buying a vehicle in MN.....get underneath and don't come out for half and hour LOL
  8. Thanks to all the responses! First off...here in MN..He who has the Title has the vehicle! LOL So I'm not worried about that. Much of the work will be done by myself. As for the frame rails, they are a little rusty and I will probably just weld a new piece over the top of them....I need to replace the rear shocks in it anyways. In all honesty no one has brung up anything I haven't really thought of already and that is making me feel more comfortable with the purchase....I just wish I still had my subaru
  9. Hey guys, this could be my first and last post or it could be the start of your new forum serial poster....lets see eh? I recently crashed my Subaru....and I've been on the look out for a new vehicle. I stumbled across the a 1994 Pathy in relatively good shape. A little rust in the rear rails (read the FAQ and this seems to be common) and a slightly dinged up front end. The guy is asking $400 for it. But here is the deal. He took a deposit on it from someone else and that person has left with they key and hasn't come back yet. So I can't drive the rig but I'm really keen on it if I can get it. The guy said the truck has no power and it coughs and it splutters when it gets some gas into it but it won't actually die. What do you guys think is the probable cause of this? I'm basically looking to see if it's worth buying and throwing a couple of hundred bucks at it or is the truck dead? My thoughts are that it has a misfire somewhere and probably a new set of plugs and wires may very well cure this little issue. I think it could also be a plugged catalytic converter but I think thats probably thinking to far into it. Can anyone think of a worst case scenario of what this might be? Or perhaps throw up a few suggestions? The rig is in really great shape....here is what I know 1994 SE 4x4 Automatic 175,xxx miles. Located in Minnesota Thoughts and suggestions greatly appreciated.
