  1. Just want to introduce myself. I just inherited from my GF's father a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder SE. Not too current on Nissan's but not a stranger to them either. I spent years on Maxima.org when I had my 3rd gen back in the late 90's into the early 2000's. That one was an SE as well with a five speed. I really loved that car. The R50 I have is in great mechanical condition for 127K miles. Trans kicks a bit 1st to 2nd like every other high mileage vehicle I driven or owned, but it goes into gear deadly smooth with no clunks or other noises. The front brake rotors are warped and it has the dreaded blower motor issue with the AC common with many Nissan's. I already have the replacement sitting in the garage, just gotta get in there and do it. I went ahead and switched it over to Synthetic Mobil 1. Next change I will convert to Penzoil High Mileage full synthetic. The Mobil 1 hasn't found any leaks, yet. As with my former Maxima, I am running it on premium gasoline. Currently have some Lubro Moly Jectron in the fuel system. Other than those things, it's mechanically sound in every way. It was a very dirty truck inside when I got it, but I painstakingly cleaned the interior and odor bombed the car (her dad and since deceased step mom smoked in it like crazy). Now it's pretty well cleaned up and very nice to drive. The outside, I would say is in Fair condition. Door dings, some scratches and oxidation of the trim. I did my best to restore what I could, but as a 3rd vehicle, I think it looks just fine. Fog lights had some water build up so I drained them as best I could, they're about 95% crystal clear now and shine bright. I polished the haze out of the headlights and replaced the bulbs with Silverstar Ultra's. Didn't help much, the headlights on this thing do just simply suck as I have read everywhere. Low beams with fogs on at night are a MUST with this Pathfinder just the same as the former 2008 Jeep Liberty my GF owned for 3 years. It will be garage kept under my ownership as well. I spent a good amount if time cleaning the engine bay yesterday. Perfect? No, but it will do. It also suffered from the POS Clarion head unit issue. I had a good laugh at that one, because I went through all of that with the single disc Clarion unit in my former Maxima. Compared to that car, the Bose in this thing is utter @!*%. I hate Bose to begin with, but this is just in-excusable\unacceptable even from them. So I have already upgraded the HU to a higher end (not top tier) Kenwood using correct adapters with a SWC module in it and am using my iPad for an iPod, Satellite radio, and navigation. Unfortunately for me, I ended up wired with RCA's from the speaker wires from the Metra harness that has them already because even the 4V preouts (Front, Rear, and Sub) from the Kenwood I bought (for that reason) weren't enough to get volume out of the Bose. I was pretty miffed about that, but oh well I also threw a 10" Kicker Comp C and 600w amp back there. I didn't want to spend JL money on a third vehicle. I tried a JBL Bass Pro first and that thing was just beyond disappointing. It's been a bitch to get it to sound "acceptable", but it's there now. I am weighing replacing the speakers altogether, but the funds allocated for this little venture are mostly depleted at the moment. Only going to pick up some nice Nissan matte black plate frames, a couple OEM key blanks to have cut as I HATE aftermarket keys for some reason, and a nice sunshade. I went to those lengths with the Maxima, too. Looking forward to participating in the community here and learning from you all. Here's a couple pics. The vehicle pic is from before I cleaned the outside, so be forewarned.
  2. I just used about a 1/4 bottle of Mother's Back to Black on mine. LOL! There's some oxidation that can't be fixed on mine, but it looks a lot better and it lasts more than a few washes (experience from other vehicles).
