  1. I am gonna do some trails up past Liberty off Blewett, I got my new schedule and I will be ofd Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I am looking to get in the backwoods more then an ORV park myself maybe overnight it since I have the RTT. I also go up North to fish not really off roading but totally scenic and fun to explore the Forest Service roads in the summer. If anybody else has mid-week off I am down to plan something, even over towards the Olmypics.
  2. I know of some places off Blewett pass I did this weekend with a group it just was too foggy for a view I would like to check out again soon.
  3. I was looking at some of your pics you go some of the same places I do, lets get a trail run going soon I just got back from the NW Overland Rally and I want to hit more trails. I got rear ended last week so my truck will have to go in the shop soon but before then I want to out some miles on it.
  4. OME heavy duty in the front, Medium in the rear and 1in spacer with 265/75/16 Cooper AT/3s little bit of a rake but I am looking to put front and rear bumpers too, even with 100lbs tent its barely moved, they have not settled yet. I need to trim my fenders and inner fenders but I clear the struts with the 3.75 back spacing wheels.
  5. We did it in the shop at Bellevue Nissan and I hired one of the techs to do most of the work but I ended up quitting and moving on to Maserati and he had a baby during this time so we had to get in done quickly, never have enough time! Those links were such a bitch to cut off.
  6. Oh shoot, good catch I was in a rush building it we were on a time crunch and I knew something was little off, we will tear into it next weekend and flip those around. I am not going to drive it this week anyways. Thanks!!!!
  7. After more delays I finally got my rig out of the shop, its not quite finished but its very close. I need to go back in next weekend and finish the alignment but it tracks OK and I put a couple hundred miles on it to let the springs settle. I need the rear wheel caps installed, the longer bake line installed, I need to do some trimming of the fenders and bumpers and remove the the hideous running boards. It rides like a dream and I installed a Tepui roof top tent on a Thule roof rack and I cannot be happier with the progress and its all coming together. Looking ahead and searching for somebody local to build me custom bumpers and install some LED lights on the roof rails to create a halo for camping, with that maybe a AUX battery and I need to source a tow hitch. I will soon be posting more pics of it driving and actually being used...finally!! 6 months of planning and a ton of work I was very pleased taking the maiden voyage of about 200 miles with no major issues. Unpacking the tent Thule roof rack Installing the tent
  8. Installation of the new Wheels on Back on the ground I will update more this week.
  9. UPDATE: After much delay I was able to get my hands dirty, we didn't finish everything we set off to do today but we accomplished a significant amount of work and ran into some issues but like in every build you can only plan so much and you have to figure it out as it comes. I started off with a car packed full of goodies and just to unbox everything took almost an hour. We put together the wheels and tires and started with the rear and right out of the gate we ran into some bolts on the rear lower links that were fused into in the shafts after going through countless cut-off wheels we got them cutoff but that set the tone for the day we fought just about every bold on this rig from the trailing links to the shocks they were are not giving up easily. We ended up getting the rear end pretty much buttoned up we only managed to put together one strut assembly. We are going to the finish up this week and hopefully next weekend I can take it on its maiden voyage. We had to put the stock wheels back on the roll it out of the shop but we got a view of it with the wheels and tires on and it was pretty exciting. Start of the day Putting together the wheels/tires I will update more pics.
  10. Another delay in the wheels but they are en route should be in Friday and Sunday install. Will be documenting it.
  11. Update:: I have had a few delays but this coming Sunday I should be ready to lift this thing, I did a quick parts check and found out I ordered a few duplicates but ohh well. Next step is to compress the springs and preload the struts so we can replace with ease. I have a set of ProComp 16in 3.75 BS steelies on order and should be here by this weekend and my Cooper Discoverer AT/3s 266/75/16 have been sitting in the shop waiting to be mounted. The last piece is ordering the rear brake line. Lots of new suspension parts I coated in epoxy suspension paint and I had the rear trailing arms painted to match the struts.
  12. What part number did you order? Is this the rear center hose that you replace? I just rounded up all my parts for my lift this weekend and I think the brake line is my final piece, I went with OME Medium and 1in spacers and Bilsteins as well.
  13. If I was up and running I would be in , I got a little behind schedule but if there is anything in March I should be pretty close and I would love to go on a maiden run.
  14. I have been asking around, buying stuff from members on NPORA and after amassing a nice collection of parts I am almost ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work on some of the major projects for this build. I have already done some major work to bring you up to speed I bought this QX4 for a get around car for my mom and then she ended up giving it back after she drove it for a year in that year I put in a new T-bet and water pump, the previous owner told me that he had a shop put in a bone yard engine so it was about 100k miles on it. I had to put a new a new battery and since I work at a dealership I slapped a new Nissan power source. I have the exhaust tacked up for the time being and after the 3rd attempt the valve covers and plenum gaskets are now replaced and not leaking. For the modifications so far I have upgraded the sound system to a kenwood DDX23BT and then I installed a CrimeStopper RS4-G4 remote start system over Christmas. I have a stockpile of suspension parts and other goodies I bought from RockAuto and other online stores; CV axles, struts, ball joints, rear trailing arms uppers and lowers and million other pieces I have some in the paint shop being painted white others I rattled black for extra rust protection. I normally go with all OEM but for this project I am mixing in China knock offs and OEM for the critical pieces. I have installed a JWT pop charger I got from big_johnson on NPORA parts for sale and I have ready for install a set of Mile Marker locking hubs I got from NOCOJay on there too, thanks guys. I just picked up a set of new Bilstein 5125s to keep the rear down. I took out the front turn signals and installed a set of generic LED fogs. For my lift I have a set of OME HD up front and OME MD for the rear waiting for install. I ordered from Fleurys a set of 1in strut spacers but some AS*HOLE decided to swipe the package from my mail room so its setting me back a few weeks till I can get another set ordered. I work at a Nissan dealership and have a condo so its best for me to do it with an experienced tech after hours so we have the facilities to get this job done fast. I think I have enough to get this project rolling the only thing I am debating is getting extended brake line, if anybody know what the part #s are I read somewhere W21 or Frontier lines are longer and direct fit..not sure but if anybody has info it would be great. I am just waiting for the top coil seat to be able to put my struts together so its an easier install and I have it preloaded I only found one vender online and I didnt want to go through Nissan even with a discount they were $$$ its just going to take a week ro so to get but I did go OEM for the strut mount plates and bearings. I am planning on taking pics of the progression and also making a video, suggestions encouraged...thanks! 15. Cornpone99 I meant to reply to your comment, you said you had 1.75 spacers and they rubbed but with no spacers they cleared barely, do you think 1in spacers with 4in BS would be perfect? I see its hard to find decent 16in with 3.75 I was against spacers but if it works I will order some and just go for 4in BS wheels. And its promising that 285/75/16 work for you. Almost pulled the trigger on wheels/tires today..still trying to hold off till I get it in the air. I am planning on dry fitting different sizes since we have a huge amount of old tires in the back of my work and I will mount to my spare or find a 4in BS wheel for reference.
  16. This is some great information. I am collecting my parts and hopefully I will be installing in 2 weeks I will make a video/build up during the process. Any bits advise for the install? I am going to be doing along with a Nissan certified tech in the shop after hours so if there are any tricks I am all ears.
  17. I am trying to determine if I have the right combo before I get into bolting everything on. I have OME HD front and MD rear springs ready to be installed and then I ordered Fleurys 1in strut spacers on the way and Bilstein 5100 for the rear, is that going to be enough clearance to fit 265/75/16 I do not have the wheel/tire combo yet I am just running 16in trispokes with 245/70/16 for the time being I am about a month off before I get the wheels/tires. My questions is with 2in could I fit 33s without a SFD and is it worth the extra 1/2in? If I went to 2in strut spacers would I be better off? I am not worried about trimming the inner fenders I have on that is torn up already and I have a QX4 so it looks as the fender flares might need a little trim once I get the tires. If I did 2in spacers will that mess up the angle of the CVs? I also have Mile Marker locking hubs on the way...
  18. That helps I was tossing up 265/70/16 or 265/75/16. I am not planning on doing strut spacers yet and I am running 245/70/16 snow tires for the winter. It sounds like I will be OK for now. The later decision will be wheel tire package without strut spacers If I can get away with -10 offset with 265/70/16, if I do have to do wheel spacers I might as well try and stuff the 265/75/16s with strut spacers as well. I am going to put this thing up a little now and judge from there. I need to get the locking hubs next but with the Auto 4x4 I have heard its not worth it,
  19. I am looking for some input I just ordered my OME HD front and OME MD rear springs and currently I have the stock 16in tri-fan wheels and I am worried that the wheels will not clear once I lift it. I am planning on upgrading but for the mean time I want to be able to drive it. If anybody has any experience in this it would be most appreciated.
  20. I am Brian I have a Infiniti QX4 so its a rebadged Pathfinder I bought as a winter rig for my mom then took it over and got the itch and fell into a mild build for my weekend adventure excursions. About me; I have been selling cars for about 15 years and more then half of that was/is selling Nissans and I have owned 12 Nissan/Infiniti products throughout the years so I can be labeled as an enthusiast. I sold my R50 with the 3.5L last year which I wish I would have kept but if anybody has suggestions on this 3.3L to improve..just about anything I am all ears. I am not a huge offroader mostly hiking, fishing and camping. I am planning on going a little further out on trails then my daily driver 2016 Altima can take me. About my ride; 1997 Infiniti QX4 with 245k miles on it. The engine was replaced before I got it and has about 100k on it.Things I have done so far; Timing belt and water pump, front brakes, battery, Kenwood deck, remote start, LED head lights and fog lights, Wintercat snow tires. Things in the process upper and lower trailing arms, struts, shocks and air lift in the rear. Things on the horizon; safari rack with lights, awning and highlift jack, new All Terrain tires and wheels in the summer. As I mentioned I am trying keep it on a budget and always open to suggestions. I look forward to interacting with other R50 owners to get ideas. Thanks for your input and happy trails to all!
