Thanks gamellot. I’ll be getting some vacuum hose to put in my kit. My rig ran fine, but just the issue with the CEL when stopped. These issues that pop up now and then just give our rigs more character!

Well, well SkiBumBrian! I checked as you suggested. From the back of intake manifold, center engine, close to firewall, wouldn’t you know! A small vacuum line, and when I touched it, it disconnected from manifold nipple. A half inch split on the end, so of course no seal. Snipped off the end and stuck it back on. Haven’t driven yet, but have high hopes!! My further question; how in the world did you find this line other than just pulling on lines?! Anyway, thanks so much for feedback. Hope this an irritating issue!

Thanks SkiBum. I have a feeling you are right. Some vacuum hoses are pretty brittle and old. I’ll check now and reply!

My 1994 Pathfinder has the check engine light come on at full stop. Then goes out after getting up to speed. Light otherwise does not come on. The ECU always reads 55(no malfunction). Truck runs and idles smoothly, no hiccups on acceleration. Anybody have similar issue? Any ideas? Comments? Thank you in advance.

I also recommend NGK. Nissan suggests a hotter plug then the #6 that the auto stores will sell you. I had new sixes and replaced with gives and the hotter pug solved several issues.

Anyone who still has pin would be wise to get rid of the nylon cord and replace it with some cable. You lose the pin it'll be hard to find another. 'Course you could use an Allen wrench!

Thank you RCWD21. I will take your advice. I really just want slightly more capacity so I can with clear conscience dump in 4 quarts. Never thought of lower oil pressure possible. Probably I'll stick with stock filter size. Thanks again.

Just a question. What are the part numbers for an oil filter for my '94 Pathy V6 that would give me a filter with slightly more capacity than the OEM filter. Fram, Bosch, purolator, even the Nissan OEM filter but slightly more capacity. I've just been putting in 4qts. Even though slightly overfilling the recommended capacity. There hasn't been any problem, but I'd just feel better with a bigger filter. Any suggestions? Thanks..

Thanks again Adamzan. I got some more information this morning from KYB Americas. KYB said that the universal replacement shocks for the Pathfinder are listed as the 344045 ®, and 344430 (F). However, these shocks are not for those vehicles that were supplied with factory adjustable suspension. If these shocks are used on a vehicle that came with the adjustable suspension, as did my Pathfinder, then they will not be covered by any warranties and are not considered adequate to replace the factory adjustable shocks, even though they fit. However the KYB KG5476 (F), and KG5438® are designed to replace the factory adjustable shocks with a non-adjustable shock. The KGs are not adjustable but are beefier and a step up from the GR-2s and are covered under full warranty as a replacement shock for the 4wd Pathfinder. Of course no electric hookup, that is bypassed. So I'm sending back the GR-2s and reordering the KGs per KYB recommendation and also my local parts house! Hope this feed helps others buying shocks.

Got some new information this morning. It seems that the KYB numbers, 344045 (rear), and 344430 (front), are for vehicles that did not have adjustable suspension shocks. The numbers from KYB that I am now getting is that the correct replacement shocks for a 4WD 94 Pathfinder that came with adjustable shocks would be KG5476 for fronts and KG5438 for the rears. Any comments would be appreciated!

I'm new to NPORA, and to Pathfinders in general. I have been slowly but surely getting my 94 Pathy road worthy. I just got some KYB Gr-2 shocks for front and rear, not wanting to rebuild for the adjustable shocks. What my question is, the invoice says, "Nissan GR-2 Gas shock, front fitment, KYB Part Number 344430, does not include models with Adjustable Suspension." So does that mean these shocks fit trucks without adjustable suspension, or that they are a replacement for the shocks that have adjustable suspension? The language just doesn't make sense to me. Also, the rear shocks, KYB Part number 344045, have same description and are designated GM GR-2 Gas shock, which to me looks like a shock that would fit some GM trucks also. right?
