  1. I have the same one, mine has some upgrades but they are amazing trucks. Take good care of it and it will last forever. I have had mine for 15 years. 175000 miles. Driven to and from mexico 4 times and driven in mexico on cobblestone streets for the better part of its life. Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
  2. Changing parts and what not is no problem, I'd be more worried about getting the oil levels right and how to pressurize the system and recharge the refrigerant. Sounds like it might be better to have a shop deal with it. Mechanic labor is pretty cheap here, its the parts that can cost. Thanks for the input. Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
  3. Would you suggest I get this done professionally? Or is this something I can do on my own? I'm pretty handy and I have access to a professional Race Car Garage with a car lift. Thanks for the replies.
  4. Here is my baby! I have had her since she was brand new in 1998 (Well my parents had her) I inherited her in high school and have kept her going all these years. She just got new Front and back suspension, a tow package, a few new lights that were broken. Anyway if she lasts I am going to try and lift her and do a few other things.
  5. Yeah I figured as much, I think I can get it fixed here, can you tell me if the compressor is Nissan specific of if I can get a generic one? Much bigger chance of finding a generic one vs a Nissan specific one. Thanks for taking the time.
  6. Hey guys/gals Heading out on a 2300 miles road trip from Central Mexico to Atlanta and need help identifying a strange noise when the AC is turned on. AC Still blows cold. Here is a video I shot for you guys to show the issue: https://youtu.be/LA7WEL-8Sac 1998 Nissan Pathfinder SE I'm guessing its the AC compressor but I'd like to know for sure before I go spend a bunch of money replacing it (parts for pathfinders are hard to find in Mexico) or fixing it. Thanks in advance.
  7. Hey Fellas So I am relocating from Central Mexico to Atlanta in May. I purchased a 6x10 enclosed trailer to move a few of mine and my wife's things, Nothing major, maybe 800lb, maybe less. Now I am being told by some "experts" that my truck will more then likely burn its transmission on some of the grades driving to the states. What I would like to know is if anyone can ether set my mind at ease and tell me it will be fine, or can suggest some motor or transmission upgrades (that wont cost me an arm an a leg) that I can do to ensure a safe trip in one piece. The trailers Curb weight is just over 1000lb and Id venture to say I will be putting about 800lb or less. Household items, few large mirrors, some of those heavy duty metal shelves from costco, a bike, few appliances and maybe 20 to 30 medium boxes with random stuff in them. I am not talking any large furniture or anything that I cant lift on my own. Its more of an amount of stuff rather then the weight of stuff. So what say thee? I'd really like to hear some good news as I have about $1000+ invested in the trailer and hitch. Selling it again is probably not going to happen as I am leaving in a month and I live in a pretty small town. Thanks for any advice you can can all offer.
  8. Hey hey Oh yeah for sure, not going to be doing anything grand until I move state side, however welding and custom work here is super cheap so I may want to get something done in that vain before I go. As to the type of ride, let's call it a daily driver with a twist. I'm a trucker so I'm only home for weekends but the wife will want to use it and she frightens easily haha. Id definitely like to lift it a few inches and put some bigger tires on it, other then that I defer to the wisdom of this forum. I'll definitely check out everyone else cars.
  9. It's still with the mechanic, should be back in my hands middle of next week and I'll take some pics. However it's bone stock, gold pathy 98 SE. Paint has seen better days but not sure I really care all that much about the paint, I'm more concerned with the badassness factor haha.
  10. Hey guys New to the forums and wanted to say whats up. Currently i live in Mexico but I am moving back to the states in 6 months. I drive a 1998 Pathfinder SE 4WD. I just replaced the entire suspension front and back. I am 32 and have driven this Pathy since I was in Junior High. It was origonally my dad's truck and now it finally belongs to me. I am interested in lifting it and putting some good AT Tires on there, but I have no idea where to begin. First things first though, the stock bose sound system has to go! So this week it gets a new system but what should I upgrade first? What are some good upgrades to start out with before I go ham on the Lift kit? Any suggestions are welcome but remember I live in Mexico, so it's not always easy to find stuff here and shipping here can get pricey. , Anyhow thanks for the suggestion.
