  1. heh... I wish I was stuck with Megan Fox... Not that I mind the company i'm with. Anywho it looks like we will be taking Greyhound out of here, there is a full service terminal. ~$500 for freight and fare. Oh, and i'm not sure what truck i'll be buying next. I'm kinda fond of the older 4runners and Landcruisers.
  2. Well, while driving from Denver, CO back to my parents house in Portland, OR my poor old pathy decided to throw a rod 13 miles east of Evanston, WY. Its not worth repairing so i'm just going to strip it and scrap it. It was nice while it lasted... So now i'm stuck in a hotel room with my friend while we figure out how to ship a truckload of stuff out of here. Probably going to have to dump a few things to cut down on costs, but w/e. fskc murphy's law. >
  3. It looks fine. But I have no idea. bah, looks like i'll be getting a ride to school tommorow.
  4. Yet again my pathy is having issues starting. So, Firday night I went up into the woods with some friends for a bonfire. Everything was working fine. Made it there and back without a problem. The next day it starts up, but then dies after a few seconds. I try and start it again, but nothing. However, the coil appeared to be fireing as the tach was reading at idle. But the engine wouldn't run. Thinking it was just a one time thing I went back inside and forgot about the problem. Today I try and head to class, same thing happens. What the heck is going on?
  5. http://bb4win.sourceforge.net/bblean/ Its basicly an app that replaces explorer.exe as the default windows GUI. I got the wallpaper from this site, http://pixel.customize.org/ Its located in the 2005 Exhibition
  6. I'm running windows XP and BBlean
  7. My '93 has a pefect looking frame, no rust anywhere. Of course, I live in a state that doesn't salt the roads.
  8. 31" Maxxis Bighorn M/Ts Very nice tires.
  9. Well the alt appears to be fine and its charging the battery. It looks like I have a major short somewhere, as disconnecting the battery overnight preserves the charge. Time to do some hunting with a voltmeter.
  10. So, I go to head out to my 9am class today and my pathfinder won't start. The battery appears to be totally dead. I get a tiny bit of power coming off it, but nothing useable. It was perfectly fine yesterday, how did this happen. I did not leave any lights on and all the doors were shut tight. Any thoughts?
  11. Yeah.... The "man" lives somewhere in Oregon. Nothing but a brestless female that looks like a man.
  12. Yeah.... something like that. There was too much stuff in the way to route it cleanly.
  13. Well I managed to fit some 5x7s in the doors. I took a grinder to the stock plastic mounts and cut enough away to make the speakers fit. The hardest part of the whole thing was running new wires. I managed to get the wire on the drivers side through the original route, but I had to be a little creative on the passenger side. It works, but its not too pretty.
  14. That did it. I think I'll do some cleaning while I'm in there. There is a layer of sludge at the bottom of the door.
  15. So, I did some prying today and I found out why the PO disconnected the front speakers. The surround is totally rotted out, most of it is missing and the speaker itself is brittle and cracking. Looks like I need to find some cheap replacements. I could now use some advice on how to remove the panel completely without destroying the clips/panel. I have the lower half off on the passengers side but the upper side won't budge and I'm afraid it'll break something if I pull harder.
  16. So, I'm working on fixing all the little things that are wrong with my Pathfinder this week so the damn thing will become more reliable. I've cleaned the contacts for the lighting, aired up all my tires, and replaced the old broken head-unit with a new one. Now, when I bought it a year ago the front speakers didn't work. The rears had been replaced with a set of infinity speakers (which don't quite fit in the hole) and the fronts were untouched. While replacing the head unit I noticed that there was a rather thick grouping of wires coming into the area. Most of them are now too short to reach anything without extensions. I tried a few to see if I could get some sound up front, but got nothing. It looks like the stock front amp has been bypassed and the wires cut back. So, what color are the stock wires for the front connections. The wiring diagram I have really doesn't help, probably because I don't know how to read it. There are also a pair of wires wrapped in a grey and red/green sheath. What the heck to these wires go to? Could someone also let me know how to get the door panel off without breaking it. It seems like it should just pop off, but it won't.
  17. AFAIK, if you convert a car/truck to diesel it is legal as long as you go to the DMV and have it re-registered as a diesel and it passes all emission requirements. People have done diesel swaps in CA and had all the paperwork signed off, so it is possible to do as long as you go through all the correct channels. However, it is much easier to get everything legalized if you use a domestic diesel.
  18. Well, it looks like the problem with the tail lights is due to the switch. The contacts come together, but the circuit doesn't complete untill pressure is applied. Its doesn't look like the contacts need to be cleaned, but I don't really know what else would be causing this problem. Also, is there an easy way to remove the auto antenna motor (or disconnect it), or do I have to remove the fender?
  19. I really hate how my pathfinder seems to fix itself without me doing much. I went out there, jiggled the neg cable around a bit to see if it had any breaks/weak points. Hey, look, I have power again! I just don't know what I did to fix it. Now I need to find out why my taillights are not working...
  20. It looks like it might be the neg/ground. I'm going to see if I can get it unbolted to have a better look at it.

    Broken...

So, I'm on my way out the door to head to class today and I go to start the Pathfinder. Nothing... The lights go on for a brief moment, but then fade. I try jumping it, still nothing... Nothing even comes on this time. Looks like its not the battery... All the fuses are fine, everything worked yesterday. I have no idea what the problem is, so i'm going to go over every inch on electrival I can get to over this weekend and hopefully i'll find something... Any help would be appreciated.
  22. I've had the same issues with my pathfinder. The causes are old/bad wiring. Part of my problem was an aftermarket alarm installed over the stock one, which caused the battery to drain. The taillights and the instrument lights are on the same fuse, check to see if that has blown. If it has then you most likely have a short. I somehow fixed mine by removing the cut off trailer light harness and replacing the lisence plate bulbs. My instrument lights still cut out sometimes, but that might be because there is a problem with my dimmer switch. The headlight is probally shorting out somehwere, so i'd check all the wires leading to the low beam for that side for cuts or tears. I ghetto-rigged mine by splicing in a wire from the other light. Not the greatest fix in the world, but I intend to replace most of that wiring soon so it works in the meantime. Fixing wiring is a bitch.
  23. So, afer doing some wheeling in stupidly deep powder and noticing my front tires are allmost completely bald on the inside (I know, this could of been prevented) i'm in the market for some new tires. I'm looking for a 31" or 32" tire that would do well in dirt/snow/mud but also handle well on the highway. If anyone has any tires for sale, or knows where I could get some please let be know. Otherwise i'm headed down to Les Schwab tommorow to get a quote.
  24. Not a pathfinder but one of my current roommates (or so he says) ran drugs for a summer durring highschool. They had an old datsun with a 350 and modified bed with compartments underneath. After loading up on whatever they would carry dirt or barkdust was put in the bed to further hide the compartments. I've actually heard of people hiding stuff in the tubes running between the frame rails.
