  1. Nav, that site is awesome. I have never seen it before thanks for posting it! -Chap
  2. Ebay has some shift knobs for a pathy with the od button. From the diagram it looks to just snap on the existing shaft then held in with set screws. Look for shift knob nissan pathfinder then scroll down.
  3. Got it The Splitter from the headlight didn't splice the crappy highbeam wire so I used a t -splitter and gusto worked like a charm. Do you think the ground from the lights themselves will be ok crimped to a heavier gauge wire then to the frame?
  4. I wired up some hella 500's using the diagram in the package, but the switch doesn't get power. The led on doesn't even come on and the lights won't either. I checked the inline fuses and they are fine checked my grounds and they are solid. I did have to crimp on more wire (of a thicker gauge) to the light's ground because the wires provided were too short to go anywhere solid. My next task is to check the relay can I check the lead from the battery into the relay by female terminal with the battery hooked up? I checked all the other connections, but I would think that if the relay was functioning right I would at least get a light on the switch no?! It is probably something dumb that I overlooked, but if you guys have any ideas of how to check the power to the switch let me know. Heres how I wired it. 1.red (hot with inline fuse) to the relay 2.green with tap in connector (also inline fuse) to middle switch connection 3.black leads to the 87 on the relay 4.Two grounds off each light one to the vertical cross member of the radiator mount and the other to an empty screw hole on the pan under the radiator 5.A ground right next to the relay mounted behind the engine fire wall on the driver's side behind the small fuse box 6.I ran the switch wires through the hole on the driver's side fire wall that leads to the A frame of the door and into the truck under the molded piece that meets the dash in the door jam 7.A ground off the switch's ground to the wall next to the door jam Like i said more than likely something dumb It is too easy for it to be complicated. Thanks guys.
  5. I want put the switch in one the empty slots next to the dimmer but I cant find a route through the fire wall. Do you know an easy path or should I just use the door jam?
  6. I'm hooking up some fogs and wasn't sure where the best place to tap into the high beams was. Pre harness right after the head lamp or further away from the head light? It looks like the used hockey tape to insulate the wires before they enter the harness Thanks guys.
  7. I want to mount some lights to my front bumper. How should I reinforce the area of the bumper that I mount them? I know there is a bit of metal in the bumper itself, but I'm not sure that it is under the flat area that I will be mounting them. Also are there any airbag sensors in the area that I should watch out for?
  8. Anyone know where to get a cheaper bull bar for an '02?
  9. Found the culprit. To my disbelief it was the front of the driver's side that was causing the rubbing. I pushed the well in about 2" and zip tied it through one of the natural holes and gusto! Does the front of the wheel well mainly protect the light housings? I noticed there are some drain holes underneath I created some gaps by pushing the bottom in but I don't think it should be a problem it should still deflect the majority of the water and debris.
  10. I just bought some new shoes for the ol' girl and got get a bit of rubbing in the infamous left front wheel well when backing up of course. What area of the wheel well is the most common obstacle. I imagine back middle or inside middle. I know alot of you have trimmed or tied back the plastic I was just curious were I should start. Thanks guys and gals.
  11. That is exactly what it looks. Should I just try to re goop. I don't smell the cat at all so maybe internally it's still good?!
  12. Thanks guys it's an 02 se I didn't think there would be enough room topside but I guess the bat does take up some good working room.
  13. Ditto on that spot. The rust on the connecting bracket flaked away like a pastry. I had mine off for a while and people could not even hear a difference. I thought it sound a bit thoatier, but maybe it was just me. You don't need the post muffler for inspections?
  14. I'm going to get my alty tested and if it's going I'm gonna swap it myself. Are there any precautions I should watch for other than disconnect the pos on the battery? Anything special to do with the belt while it's being swapped? It doesn't look like there is much underneath so should be pretty painless right?!
  15. Never thought of that, great idea!
  16. Are most cats bolt on or weld on? It might be tough to weld if there is bunch of rust. Also are most after market cats a bit longer to compensate for the pipe that enters the old one being cut or is there a pipe fitting to make up the inserted difference? Thanks guys my friend has torches lifts and access to lots of goodies.
  17. Thats not bad around a hundred bucks a piece. How can exhaust shops get away with charging you through the nose. Is it pretty labor intensive to uninstall the old ones? I'll have to ask around a couple of shops to see if they will install ones that I purchase myself. My exhaust is new from the resonator back I just didn't want to mess with cats plus the exhaust.
  18. Is upsizing tires from stock harmful to your engine in the long run with out regearing?
  19. I have an 02' se and had my exhaust replaced from the resonator back a few months ago. When they had my truck running on the lift they showed me that my passenger side cat was leaking and had some sort of cheap metal welded around as if it was poorly put there to stop the leak. They said they could try and reweld it but there would be a possibility of the seam just vaporizing do to the rust around the metal. Have you ever heard of a cat repair like this? My truck only hit 70K a month ago so I would be under the federal mandated 80K cat warranty but, I'm wondering if the dealership would try to say I Attempting a fix and not warrant the cat. I did not by the truck at a Nissan dealer. Thanx.
  20. Does anyone know if the nissan emblem on the center cap of se rims is glued in place or are the prongs inside locking it on?
  21. I have an '02 pathy and I noticed this past winter that sometimes it would have a hard time disengaging from 4wd. It has no issue engaging 4wd only going back to 2wd. I have the se with the stick not the auto dial. Could this be uneven tire wear? Sometimes it disengages right away most of the time not. Anyone ever have this happen on their pathy before?
  22. I'm planning on upsizing the tires on my '02 (stock suspension) I'm thinking about 245 70 16's. How much of an effect on gas mileage did you guys notice when upsizing? I'm going AT not too nobby.
  23. Does anyone know the part number for a vacuum cut valve or alternate name that parts stores might know. I tried to describe it by location and shape and color but to no avail. Thanks
  24. Is this a part that most auto parts retailers will have or will I have to go to the dealership? I figured it would be okay to drive it for a few days I just wanted to make sure. thanks
