Yes, I agree with Kurruppt. It looks like yours has gone missing. The pin was attached to the spare carrier/rack with a piece of cord, and it was stored in that clip. When you wanted to lock the rack open, the pin went vertically into the two holes you see on the lower mount. I'd like to know what the two holes in the flat pieces (where the clip is located) were intended for, too.

Great info on the bulb gasket! Thank you! I wasn't getting anywhere in my online or in-shop searches because I did not know what this stuff was called. I will pick some up soon and get the rear hatch sealed up.

My 95 had the exact same leak spots this past December. There were small streams of water flowing down from the inside of the top of the windshield, and behind and into the dash cluster. I also get a puddle in the rear cargo area, just below where the hatch brake light assembly is (maybe at the top of the hatch seam near the hinge). Had to go out and buy a canopy from Harbor Freight to park the Pathy under. I'm wondering if all of these leaks are due to old gasket rubber no longer sealing. Citron, if you get your windshield resealed, I'd be very interested to know if this solved the problem.

Well, I'll keep looking in the junk yards. In Portland, I have had exactly zero luck in finding one at a Pick-N-Pull or a Craigslist part-out. I realize that the stock skid plates are not true skid plates, but I want the protection from sticks and any high rocks that I might mis-negotiate. I can't afford to get stuck with a broken suspension or a hole punched in something when I'm out in the boonies. I was very interested to hear that the older Xterra covers will fit. I do not have the tools to fabricate my own, but I can modify by drilling holes. Can someone please tell me the years to look for? 4x4parts.com has a 3/16 inch steel skid plate for $105.00 plus shipping. Kinda steep for me at this time, so I'll keep my eyes open for a junker that has one. Thanks for all your input!

I've got a request for a front skid plate in to partrequest.com, and they want a VIN or part number. I am not seeing any mention of the front skid plate in my parts or repair manuals. Does anyone know where else I could look for this information? BTW, I'd like to verify that what partrequest.com is calling a "Skid Plate - Suspension" is what everyone else calls a "Front Skid Plate". Thanks, Kathy

All four of my factory 5x7 speakers were toast due to age. I purchased new 5x7s, but so far, they won't fit in the front spacers without some router work on the spacers. Haven't had time to try to fit the rear ones yet.

Boy oh boy, you guys are the best! I fiddled around with it for way too long, and never figured out how to manually lock it. Logged on to the forum tonight to find Kingman's and Precise1's posts about the little tab and turning the key clockwise a bit! Thanks loads!

My 95 has had the usual door lock malfunctions, and now will not respond at all. Is there a way to manually unlock the rear lift gate? If I take the rear panel off the inside, is there a way to manually release the door latch by reaching in the window?
