  1. to change a cv you need to take off the hubs, un snap the snap ring either using pliers or screwdrivers (screwdrivers takes talent!), unbolt the upper ball joint, and most likely the brake caliper so the hose doesn't get stretched. Inbetween that, im not sure. It's been a while since i've done cv's on a wd21. haha. my car50 was a lot easier. :)

using screwdrivers to remove the snapring takes talent? and i thought it was just because im broke hahaha

  2. your best bet is to go with redline mt-90 MAKE SURE IT IS A GL-4 fluid tho. the gl-5 has addatives that eat away at the brass synchros in our transmissions. i believe they had a TSB for the tranny fluid level to be at 5.3? anybody else know exact level? and i dont know how much transfer case contains

  3. i have them on my lifted pathy and she rides like a dream! But PLEASE make sure you put locktite on your upper control arm bolts. one of mine came loose and stripped out all the threads on my frame. i had to tap and die the frame for a larger bolt.

  4. I don't have much experience with suspensions and such so I need help. I'm running a 3 inch lift. Putting in that was a learning curve all on its own. I bought some pro comp es3000 from 4 wheel parts. The guy behind the counter ordered up the stuff and sent me on my way. I pulled out a rear shock to compare to the original one. They are the same length. Im going to try and take back the rear shocks but what length do I need? I read somewhere that a f250 shock is the right length but does anyone have a measurement? Or did the ac coils I put in lift way more than 3 inches? http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/01/

    ...

hey boss im gunna try and make it even easier for ya.... just go to your local parts store and order some rancho rs5112's. i really dont remember what they were supposed to fit... but i can vouch they are more than long enough and a hell of a lot cheaper than 4x4parts.com.

  5. Yeah my suspension is much beefier than stock so I'm sure my gvwr is higher than stock. I run much bigger truck shocks and springs, only my torsion bars and control arms are stock. Poly bushings everywhere, Ford f350 rear shocks, bronco 2 front shocks, jeep 5.9l v8 springs, soon to be air bags in the rear for the offroad trailer I'm building . I'm confident it is sufficiently beefed up to carry some extra weight.:)

Also just finished swapping in a new rear axle I got for 40$ that has factory lsd and disk brakes so my braking has also increased greatly from the swap.

I went out to my truck last night to make some plans and finish up my girls vg33 swap and took a look under the rear seats, I am going to do it. There is tons of room down there, I could get a really nice sized extra storage area out of the deal. I'll put up a thread for that project, when I get to it .

Today we are finishing my girls vg33 swap, so I will have time for my beast again soon!

i really wanna see your seat storage compartment that you came up with!!

  6.

Is this one of the bolts that holds the ball joint to the UCA, the camper bolts to the spindle, or the spindle itself for the UCA?

sorry i should have said that haha. its the bold that goes through the control arm spindle into the frame. bolts the whole uca to the frame
  7. ^agreed, not to mention it will actually be stronger with a helicoil, thread-cert or whatever you use. Do not despair, it isn't that bad of a fix and at least you caught it before the damn wheel fell off.

You might want to check the condition of the other threads as well, along with checking the torque of the other side.

    B

funny you said check the other side... first thing i did haha. and what is this helicoil? and where can i get one...? i plan on doing it saturday its going to be 50degrees!! better than the 19 degrees we had yesterday! haha

  8. having the worst week possible....

i went to check my truck out because she had a HORRIBLE right wheel lean. (Thought it was a ball joint) and i look underneath... im missing a damn uca bolt. it must have come loose and ripped right off!

anyways the hole is stripped... whats the easiest/safest way to fix this?!? was going to tru

y to drill the tap the frame to make my own threads for a grade 8 5/8" bolt.. its the largest bolt that i could fit into the upper control arm itself... HELP PLEASE?!!'

  9. Doh, busted! You aren't married, are you?

Between cooking, charcuterie, yard work, planting, taxes and the honey do list, I'm behind schedule. I have taken 1/2 of the measurements and all of the pictures anyone should need, I just need to CAD it now, and finish up. The good news is it is going to be raining here for a while, so that frees me up to do inside stuff. Inside the garage. Bear with me, I just need a few more days. I have not forsaken you, here is the proof, ARB bondage! :D

I've orked with engineers too long... :D

Making it a 3 piece bolt together would make it a lot easier to fab up! I'd want the pieces to interlock somehow, not horizontal sections bolted together though.

Regardless, I'll have dimensions very shortly; the majority of the work is done, and I can't forget about it because it is hanging in my garage!

HAHAHAHA  You got me on the married part. Does Engaged count Cause i still get the famous

"Honey could you get your tools out of the kitchen"

    "YES DEAR! :suicide: "

No Worries though bud i totally get it 100% (And to be honest i have to find my CAD software anyways haha) And now that you actually showed me full picture of the bumper im anxious as all hell to start drawing up your measurements from the ARB to my design (Want the bumper to wrap around to tire wells)

  10. I will be posting actual dimensions shortly.

Yes, the upper mounts in the second picture bolt directly to the stock bumper bracket mounts. It would be easy and a good idea to reinforce those stock mounts. The real strength is from the lower mounts though, where it bolts to the tow hook mounts and the tie down points.

    where those dimensions you promised?;)

  11. thank you for all the input also and i am sure to be a regular here since i have always liked the trucks, and now i have 2 but the one is for parts since it is so far gone, when i get them home i will show the rot on the one and the 95 has a clean body and frame, i dont think i paid to much for both trucks either at $1650 for the pair i think i made out pretty well. and all the help is greatly appreciated.

was wondering if you had done the swap yet and if you had the wiring done! im trying to do my wiring now but going from the 93 dash to the 94 dash! haha if you had a "idea" of the wiring it would REALLY help

  12. Are those thornies in that pic?

Sent from my Q7 using Tapatalk

nope interco tsl super swamper bias ply 34x9.5r15 haha. i never like the thornstucks. ;) hahaha just a 3" suspension lift and they tuck very nicely(as you can see fron tire)
