  1. Hah! Cool, that looks nice and clean both with and without the top. :aok:

There is a trick to swap out the rear seat bottom hinge pins with shoulder bolts and wing nuts for easy removal. Once those are out, anyone under 6 feet can sleep in the back without issue. .

    Like he said

I cut the rivets out and installed latching pins in their place, makes for more room with the seat bottoms

out. and a 6 footer can sleep back there comfortably

  2. I understand, but didn't take quite that long to figure out; maybe only 1.5 years...

Living in SoCal gives you a pass card though, when is the last time you have seen frost?

We're kind of sheltered up close to the hills, it;s been about 3 years since we;ve had frost here.

I think the lowest temp so far this year was about 35 F

  3. Just bought a 95 donor for the 88 and the 94.

It's from Illinois with major body rust and frame rot, but the engines strong and no leaks and the autotragic shifts great.

Will put the engine and tranny in the 94, the rest is for the 88 finally get my round dash for the 88.

I'm going to be busy the next couple of months :jig: :jig: :jig:

  4. installed the autometer electric oil pressure gauge today and had a heck of a time getting the sending unit started, but it's in and working and no leaks.

The old sender was leaking, that's the 3rd one in ten years. hopefully no more leaks in that area

Idles at about 15psi 3000rpm at about 25 psi, hoping for a little more but not too bad for almost 250,000 miles

  5. Just finished a 2700 mile trip on the 88, the big a$$ Bosch lights are gone and I'm running KC series 57s in place of the 4 Bosch.

My best mileage was 17.85 mpg on 1 tank, the other tank fulls were 17.26 mpg to 17.50 mpg.

Average speed was 70 to 75 mph, tried to keep the RPM around 3000 rpm

  6. I would go to a locksmith. Out the 10 or so times I've had keys cut, whenever I've gone to Lowes or Home Depot, the key isn't cut very well.

Most keys didn't even work and I had to go to the locksmith in the end. I had the same issue with the keys to my pathfinder back in 2000(ish).

Ended up having the locksmith do the keys off the code in the door, now those were nice.

add wallyworld to the list of not cut well

  7. running an inline filter,no on the rad cooler 2 external coolers 1 is the ford exploader tranny cooler, trans was serviced late last year,

Trans was rebuilt about 2 years ago and has been working with no probs, everything seems normal now.

  8. Been out in the desert this last week playing with the 88, I noticed the tranny was shifting like it had a shift kit in it 3 days ago it shifted like that for 2 days, now it's back to shifting it's nice smooth shift.

The fluid is nice and red no burnt smell and the fluid temp hasn't gotten over 210, normally running about 140/150.

    Any ideas????????????
