  1. I am with 5523. Could be ignition switch. Did you play with the key while it was not starting? A lot of times when the switch is failing you can find one little spot that you will get contact..... Intermittent electrical problems are the worst, very hard to find unless it is one of those times it is not working and you have a bit of knowledge on vehicle electrical systems. If I were just throwing parts at it and the "pros" have already looked at the starter/battery, etc. I would replace the ignition switch. Got anyone with basic knowledge and tools? Not that hard to replace. Remember to PULL THE FUSE FOR THE AIRBAG before screwing around with the steering column unless you want to wake up a few minutes later covered in dust wondering what happened!

There are Factory Service Manuals in PDF format here in the forums. Not sure about your 2003 but check it out, it could give you invaluable information.

  2. There is some good info on springs and spring rates here, I believe it is a sticky in the Garage section. JGC springs are an OK, cheap way to get minimal lift and nominal increase in spring rate, depending on which JGC spring you use, and there are many. I think you will find that most people that do use the JGC springs decide they really need something more, which are available through aftermarket sources. I know Fluerys developed his spacers recently with a bit of help from forum members and have heard ones that have installed them they are happy with the results. Personally I went with JGC springs for about a month and then acquired some HD 3" springs from 4X4Parts.com. They provided all the lift I wanted, the ride may be a bit harsh for some but I like em. Gotta have a panhard drop and longer shocks.

Good luck in whatever you decide!

  3. Where I live in Shasta County, vehicle thefts have become rampant. I believe per capita we are in the top 5 counties in the U.S.in vehicle thefts. Most of it is due to the court system. We have a shortage of jail cells and most crimes if not serious felonies are booked and released and when they do have a court date they are typically slapped on the hands and given probation. Until they take control of the situation no vehicle is safe parked outside overnite. Since my D21 was stolen last year I never leave my vehicles outside.

  4. I have traveled the world and eaten some @!*% that may make some of you question my decisions but any of the rodent family can be quite tasty... I could never stomach Balut, snake blood, or raw octopus. to each is own.

  5. True, and some houses are worse than others when it comes to heat retention. If I manage it right, our house rarely gets over 80 degrees in the summer. Then there is also AC... :D

True, in more ways than one though, unfortunately. I've seen you are getting more rain than down here, I think it has been essentially dry for 5 or 6 weeks now, wasting the good start that we had. It'll be 75 degrees today which is nice, but I'd like to be able to drink a glass of water this summer as well.

It is so dry that I have had to add water to the fountain and one of today's chores is to water the planters with winter crops.

Yeah, it rained like the whole month of December, it has pissed and a little rain this month but mostly clear. Yesterday it was 77 degrees and today should even be warmer. Breakin' out the dual sport!
  6. Strange new mystery. My E-brake light stays on no matter what, but when the E-brake is actually pulled, the light gets marginally brighter. Any ideas? I checked what I think were all of the connections with an ohm-meter and no issues

Couple of weeks ago my ebrake light was coming on, then going out. Then a few days later the ABS light joined in and they stayed on. Checked the fluid and it was above the MIN line but added some, problem solved. Where did the fluid go? I guess if it is not just worn pads I will find that out too...
