  1. Analog vinyl sounds so much richer and fuller than ANY digital media, audiophiles have always known this and the rest of the populous is catching on. Many of you did not grow up in the vinyl age so you have to experience the difference for yourself.

Right on to those finding the worth of old vinyl. Keep it healthy with a good turntable and a high quality stylus that uses minimal needle pressure.

  2. You may be right but it might also be throw out bearing, pressure plate, friction plate issues. You have to pull the tranny either way but it might not be as bad as it seems. How does the pedal feel when you engage the clutch? You say it only engages in 4th now. Is that running or just sitting in the driveway? Does it move at all? If the pedal feels good, It engages fine in 4th while running but no other gear, yes, you probably have deeper issues.

  3. I hear ya buddy. When I bought my '91 the PO had no idea when and if the TB was done but all his maintenance was done at the local dealer. I just changed it anyway and when I got in there the belt looked brand new. But since I was there I wanted to start with a fresh slate so I changes it, WP, bypass hose, seals... Oh, your post count doesn't matter. I don't feel I am a post whore but if you want a bigger post # just play the forum game for a while and you can rack them up...

  4. 10K? Insanity. I would drive to Denver and do it for you for that. There are members in your area that would probably be willing to help you out, just like the forum members here. Nothing you mentioned takes an awesome shop, specialty tools, or more than basic knowledge of hand tools and some time.

Search around the forums and you will find lots of information pertaining to the projects you want to accomplish, the more you read the more confident you will get on believing you can do it yourself and stick that left over 7K+ in your pocket.

Have questions? Guys here are more than willing to help.

  5. Never has to do it but you might find some info on it in the Body section of the FSM.... I wasn't bragging really, just anyone who has ridden a big cc thumper knows vibration and how useless rear mirrors can be. On them you use bar weights and rubber isolators to control mirror vibrations.
