By "spits fuel out" what exactly do you mean? If it just drips a few times does that qualify as spitting it out?

I've tested the meter, no problem measuring any other voltages.

it might be worth mentioning that while I was originally trying to adjust it I was measuring voltage fine and it started out of nowhere not reading healthy voltage, millivolts, almost none...

it's a 5sp SE vg30i

yeah, new tps. no wiring issues found, continuity throughout. am I missing something? it gets the 5v power source, the ground is fine.

I have a problem involving code 42 TPS. The input voltage is supposed to be variable from 0.5 to 4.0 volts and its supposed to change when the accelerator is depressed, but when I measure it I only measure 0.03 volts and it doesn't change. I've tried using a different ecu and the same thing is occurring. I've also checked continuity on all the wiring to the tps and everything is fine. Any ideas?

Would a faulty tps cause my 87 vg30i to buck at 2000 rpm's? Or would that more likely be a vacuum leak associated with a freshly de-clogged egr valve. Only code 42 (tps) is registered.

Hello, I've been searching everywhere and I can't seem to find the tps adjustment procedure with the required output voltage(s). Could you help me out?

So, do you have the adjustment procedure of the tps in that book? I can't seem to find the output at idle voltage anywhere...

Switching to synthetic oil can cause valve noise and can leak easier due to its smaller molecular size. there's a video about it on youtube.

I have an 87 and im getting a code 42 fuel temp sensor. I can't find it anywhere and its not screwed into the FPR. Any idea where it is?

I'm getting a code 42 on my 10/86 vg30i. Does anyone know where the fuel temp sensor is? The only information I can find about it says its screwed into the side of the fuel pressure regulator, and it's not...

Does anyone have any idea where the fuel temp sensor is? I can't seem to locate it anywhere, and it's not screwed into the side of my fuel pressure regulator. Oh, and it also idles between 1000 and 1500 rpm...

I was looking at this: http://www.troublecodes.net/Nissan/pre88nssn.shtml and according to this my 'finder should have a dial on the ecu but mine has a toggle switch. Does my truck have the wrong ecu in it? and if not how do I fix a code 42 (Fuel temp sensor I think)? In the past it has given the codes 43, then 44, now 42. I don't know what to do. It's worth mentioning that when I fixed the code 43(tps?) I ended up removing the tbi to replace the broken tps bolts. anyway, the egr port was clogged solid with carbon so naturally I cleared that out. I put everything back together the way it was, but now the truck bucks when I try to rev passed 2000 rpm's... could that be from the egr valve or the code 42? I'm getting really frustrated with all of this and i'm about to give up on the Pathfinder I love because of it.
