  1. I grounded the pink and black wire as you suggest, and viola! I have dash lights; however I immediately had a parasitic draw issue that runs the battery down to near dead overnight. I thought it may have been something I wired into the deck wrong so I disconnected the deck entirely but left the p/b wire grounded and had no change in the draw issue. I disconnected the p/b wire and the draw is gone. If I could find a wiring diagram this dash light issue would be a lot less of a problem, any ideas?
  2. Well you are indeed correct! My problem was I tried grounding it to the harness ground, the thought never crossed my mind to chassis ground it. My dash illumination and heater control lights are now functional! So as for you problem with your heater control lights not working, I know its silly to ask but have you checked the bulbs? And of course there is always the “they are all the same except the ones that are different” theory. Thank you so much for the info, I hope I can return the favor in the future.
  3. After reading through the posts concerning stereo install in a 1991 pathfinder I am still at a loss. I am hoping you can help me, I removed my broken stock stereo and installed a aftermarket one using an adapter harness, the install was quick and painless, I have sound and everything works well except for my dash lights and heater control lights no longer work. There is a two wire pin socket that connected to my stock deck that is now not hooked to anything. The wire coloring suggests that it for the illumination. I tested both leads and they show 12VDC when the lights are turned on. I have not been able to find a wiring schematic that will allow me to trace this problem further. Have any of you come across this problem? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you
