yes ,the reason for this upgrade is the 2 plastic box have a whole bunch of holes in it and it looks like @!*% too . i want to make a box with the speakers about 20 degree facing the front of the suv. what i m going to do ,i got mdf boards to make my box,use the 4 holes to mount it (from the previous plastic box) then cauck the inside of the box and leave it empty to get more bass. another reason to do this ,it s just something to do on my day off while drinking beers i will off course take pictures of this while doing it tommorow,i think it s going to be sweeeeeeeettttttttttttt thanks,i have mot decide to put carpet on the outside or paint it ,will see when it s done!!!!

ok so i got a set of 6by9 alpine speakers for 100 with 50 gift card.the speakers were originally 176 $ not too bad. so i took the gift card and bought a alpine head unit. i have 6 inch alpine speakers i got for 20$ at a junk yard customize in the front all alpine and sound very good!! now i looked at the box ,well let me say plastic casing for the 6by9 in the back and it s just @!*% for those speakers so i m going to take it all off and build 2 6by9 box custumize it!!! my question is what to put in the box for insulation on the inside??? on the outside i will put carpet or paint it later not decide. i was thinking of putting some cocking so it will be air tight ! any ideas or any one has done this major modification?? i will attack this project and put pictures up monday but need advice on insulation or should i need a air to let the bass out or keep it air tight great thank you insulation too for the front speakers as well all help will be much appreciated

like i say i got new brackets and i think it s not hitting anymore so what it could be in the tranny making it do that. i was thinking of just drive it since it really don t give me a hard time just grinds in 4th gear then once i hit the gas it goes away until i drop back down in 3rd and go back and so on .then just get a new tranny once it goes out i just don t want to spend money on trying to find the problems when i can just put that money in a new tranny what do you think ??

yes the brackets were broken so i replace then hoping it will fix the grinding but didn t what should be my next step since i change the fluid and everything was clean. he say the overdrive selinoid might be lose ? thanks

ok so i went to my mechanic and he flush it out drop the pan and everything was good ,no metal clean as it can be. he fill it with dexron 3 i think . he say it might be the overdrive selinoid or some silinoid in there . anyways i did what you suggest and still didn t find the problems. while driving something i hit the gas quick and release and it feel like a big bang ,kind like a motor mount problem but is not i think since it don t do it of a takeoff. the grinding or noise only while in OD and will grind as soon as i reach the 4th gear no matter what speed but once i hit the gas he gets out of the grinding and goes on fine. any ideas??? thanks

i was looking to get a head unit . what are those brand legacy,lanzar,pyramid and pyle are those not even worth it i m probably going to get that kenwood now with a new unit will my volume be looder then the original unit i have now . because i put it to the max and if i have the windows down it really not loud. got 6inch alppine in front and still have original 6by9 in the back which sounds fine thanks are the head unit easy to install ??

if you want to read previous post in transmission help hahaha i guess everyone has gave up on me. i have maybe some more clues to this problems so you can help!!!!!!!!!!! the grinning or rumble is only happening while in OD and in 4th gear. if i let leave it off it don t happen so i assume it s something in 4th or OD which is similar so what can i do or tell my mechanic to do ?? most of you say the torque converter but if it was that it will be in all gears right !?!! i was thinking maybe just drive it till it blows up (sad to say)and then put new tranny what is the average price for tranny BTW??? should i change the filter and flush it out still right then get the external cooling system or it s not worth it since i will probably have to get a new tranny ? or is this a major problems or can be fixed by doing some simple stuff?? BTW i put some lucas transmission fluid in it and i noticed it was runnibg soother but the problem with 4th is still there. simple but stupid question ,how can you tell if your tranny is heating up or running really hot because i have some weird smell coming from (where the hand brake is )i stick my nose there and is a weird smell ckeck for leak but don t see any . it s seems that is coming from inside the exhaust. another question can the exhaust manifold problems cause major problems or can it be leaking out that smell which if i open the hood i don t smell it so it s definetly coming form the tranny area thanks so much if you answer this ,i really need advice and ideas before getting screwed by people

ok so i also find a leak between the engine and tranny or torque converter well in that general area and i also have a pic with the catalic converter is just laying on the frame very weird so i hope this will help here they are first 2 of the exhaust laying on the frame then the rest of where the leak is hope this help will try to get better ones tommorow thanks the leak is at the end of the big metal bar you can see it really shiny from oil but my main concern is that exhaust just laying there

i pretty irritated about this problem. i took it to aamco transmission and one guy test drove it and he didn t say anuthing about the torque converter he said: it s late in @!*%fting from 1st to 2nd 2nd to 3rd he said the rattling was coming from the exhaust system !? i took it to someone else and he said to change the fluid and filter would be bad,i said heh i will take it to someone tommorow to test drive it to see what he say? then i probably have aamco do the a full check for free. nut i so confused with what s going on ???? it s so annoying to not know what it is i do have that ticking problem from the exhaust manifold ,i mean could that be it ?? and my tranny is fine very irritated since i just bought the car for 2000$ and don t really have money to fix it any ideas on what it could be ? thanks, i wish some of you experts would live closer to me ,arhhhhhhhhhh i hate getting screwed from mechanic shop ,dirty .........you know what !!! anyways on the good news i got my rims now all i need is my tires but debating on getting the exhaust or tranny problems fix before even getting my tires and aligment which in a way i need it bad because the inner rims is hitting my tie -rod or something like that because the bad space is to small. what would you do ??? thanks

yes it really help i guess i take it to my mechanic and ask to change the fluid and filter cleaned. then ask them to ckeck the converter and everything else . but can the exhaust system have any effect on this . because it s only in low rpm after the gear just change ?

the model is 1990 pathy automatic with OD i check the fluid while it was hot and everything is good . the symptoms still happen so what next? i was thinking and what if it was from the exhaust system that i feel the chatter. not the tranny because once i hit the gas it doesn t happen ??? thanks anyone on the exhaust system just rattling because it goes away . or my other idea is that it s the gear grinding because like i say once i hit the gas it s fine what can i do i don t want to get a new tranny and i m sure someone can fix it ? and what the torque converter would have to do with this ,just trying to understand? thanks

i ve been looking for rims a whole lot and to see those on ur pathy looks really good i mean for the price you really can beat that at all. i feel like a copycat a bit but it really looks good and plus we are part of npora so i think it s ok plus it s unique and i think that a sturdy rims all other rims are really expensive and looks like they will break LOL i think 4 inch spacers are good enough thanks

it s an automatic so why would it be the clutch converter

well i check the fluid when i got the car ,the transmission fluid was plentiful then when i noticed the tranny was acting weird i check it again and there s nothing on the dipstick now. i check to see if any leaks underneath the car but don t see any. are they 2 differents oil in the tranny like one for the gears one which is consider the regular tranny fluid since it s low what kind should i had to top it off? on my first post i stated the symptoms but i now noticed that it s only really doing this in OD so maybe that would help when i leave it on all the time ,if i turn it off it s not doing any of the symptoms,weird!!! if i use it without the OD it s fine until about 50mph then i hit it and it goes on fine . it s only rattling when i leave it on. example if i hit the gas 3/4 of the way while in OD the car shifts fine it s when i hit the gas very lightly and allows the gears to shift while going very slow . once in 2nd and it s low rpm about 20mph i hit the gas enough to not give a power boost then that s when it rattles (or symptoms)but if i m in 2nd and it s rattling i hit the gas and i get the power boost and the symptoms goes away if i repeat this without the OD on then it does not happen . maybe it s me or maybe just not enough fluid or gear oil or i don t use the OD right . with this new info maybe you all be able to help me better thanks kevin
