Posting videos and having Tears for Fears in the background takes away 200 man points.
Just saying. LOL
My 93 has after market flowmaster duals on it...as a matter of fact, they are coming off on Wed and going to a stock set up. I am the second owner (well 3rd really) and I am not a fan of duals for my use. I need it to be quiet as this is my daily and racnch truck...so when I am trying to move around in the woods, I need it to be more quiet.

I would use an allen head socket on a hammer impact driver. The kind you hit with a hammer like this. http://www.ehow.com/how_4809810_use-hand-impact-driver.html

Yup, we used allen socket with breaker bar then impact driver...we had to drill 3 of them....it sucked. when replacing, use the anti seize.

Thanks guys ....I am back out at the ranch....now get this.
I hit a bump with the rear left wheel, lights went off...I was so excited. Later in the day, I hit another bump...boom, lights (ABS and Brake) came back on....coming out of the field after hunting, light went off again.
Seems that when the left rear wheel takes a big hit, I get the light on and light off...
Ok, where is this gremlin?

Looking at the ABS wiring schematic....
both brake and ABS light on constantly can be:
ABS relay (engine bay)
ABS Fuse (under LH dash)
Parking brake switch
Where would I find the parking brake switch? Not the same one on the driver brake pedal right?
Thanks
RR

Thanks for posting links to this topic...holy crap, i did the above and had a crap ton of trash in there....I actually did it 2 times b.c I got a little freaked out when i smelled something burning AFTER I did the clean..so i torn it down again and hit it aging used a brush on the fins inside to get as much dust and such off then re vac'd it out.

Welcome, I am new too...what year did you get ?

Yep, recent trailer harness install. Seen this before. Good catch Nunya
It is even more fun when it blows the fuses or fries relays everytime you brake!
Glad that didn't happen.

Hey folks
I used this thread to install a new 4way plug...but I figured you were supposed to combine the running lights and brake light...well that didn't work. So my question is, should I have a 5 way rather than a 4 way? When I hit the brakes in the day time my dash lights would come on...(Trailer not hooked up) so I snipped those wires on the harness tonight and fixed that problem...but I am thinking I don't need a 4way unless I am doing something wrong.
Left Turn
Right Turn
Brake
Running
Ground
The first post in this thread only lists the following
the green & yellow wire is the brake light wire
the pink & blue wire is the driving lights (ya know..when you have yer headlights on...)
the gray & blue wire is the left turn signal. What am I missing here?
Thanks
RR

yup, I am a dumb ass....went out and snipped the running and brake lights, guess what, no more dash lights blinking on...LOL
I suppose I need a 5 way trailer plug than a 4 way.
will post int he trailer wiring thread.

At this point I look forward to the strange in your posts.
I'm not good with wiring, but yes, since this is new and after the trailer wiring info (which you didn't mention right away. ), yes you have something crossed. Didn't you think that immediately?
B
I hate to be the new class clown. No I didn't think of the trailer wiring...until I saw it on the other forum.
-
I'm betting you got wires crossed/touching from your trailer harness. When you hit the brake your running lights are probably coming on as well which will kick the dash illumination on. The reverse is probably happening as well, turn on the runners and see if your brake lights are coming on with them. Id start fresh with that trailer plug (you did just wire it if I'm thinking of the right member-not back searching at the moment).
yup that was me posting in that old trailer wire thread...so I guess I shouldn't have combined the running and brake lights...wonder if I need a 5 way and not a 4 way .
-
I found this, I wonder if I cuased this when I combined the running lights and the brake lights in my trailer wiring?

As I am learning more and more about my Pathfinder...this one had me scratching my head.
I pulled in the garage today with the head lights off...when I parked the truck my dash lights were on...then I figured out that when I press the brake pedal my dash lights come one, foot off the brake and lights off.
(This is only when the headlights or running lights are off)
Is that normal? if so, what would be the reason for it?

dude, that is impressive.

cannot edit my post for some reas
the first post in this thread states the following
"the green & yellow wire is the brake light wire
the pink & blue wire is the driving lights (ya know..when you have yer headlights on...)
the gray & blue wire is the left turn signal."
No mention of the right turn signal. me=confused.

From the driver side, I have a pink, green and white wire, from the passenger side, I have a red and black one.
So I have 5 wires going into a 4 wire connector?

This is what I see in my truck...I got mysekf confused so I cut all the butt connectors off and started over

oh yeah forgot to mention this...changed the rear brake pads and bled most of the older fluid out...it was kind of nasty.
I do need a coolant flush though...may have to pay for that to be done as my neighbors would probably frown on that one.

4x4 light FIXED!!! found out that one of the connections needed to be wired.
Also, the 2 ball bearings that engage the "switch" were not seated properly. That was fun.
Saving my pennies for the ABS sensor.
-
Ok, scratch that, the 4x4 wires from the transfer case do not go in the the check relay, they appear to come back in the firewall inside the truck. WTH?
At this point fellas, I am thinking I put tape over the light. I know its not in 4x4. Open for ideas here
Thanks

folks, I have replaced both sensors on the transfer case...no change light is still on...I traced them to a relay box and it looks like they go into the Check Relay.
easy to find and replace? Test?
-
There are 2 switches on the transfer case, one is the neutral switch and the other is what's listed as a switch assembly. I'd take that out and check it.
Thanks, I replaced the switch already, waiting for the neutral switch..should be here today. I took the Pathy and put it my storage unit and got my F250 out to drive it...its been 3 weeks or so so I wanted to spin it around some.
I am doing the rear brakes on Sat and the 4x4 Neurtal switch...going to bleed the brakes some too. My brake guy checked the fluid and it checked out.
