  1. Thanks, Gonna try to JB Weld an old 1/4 socket on it today. Will report back. If that doesnt work, I may relocate the sensor to somewhere else in the cooling system
  2. Thanks guys, I believe I've found my problem... CTS is broken off in the head, found the harness and new CTS hidden beneath the air filter. I guess the PO that I bought from didnt care to share that with me. The broken CTS only has a brass stud sticking up and no nut left. Nowhere left to drill and use an easy-out and to small for visegrips. Any ideas on removal? Is there anywhere else I could relocate the new CTS and function properly? Could I drill and tap the thermostat housing and install there? Or, if I knew the operating temp resistance of the CTS, I could just install a resistor in place to fool the ECU? I did place the new CTS beside of the thermostat housing for now and it already runs somewhat better. As always, any ideas or advice is much appreciated! Thanks BT
  3. Hate to ressurect this, but did you ever get it out? I'm in the same boat...
  4. Thanks guys, Gonna try to find time today to check these. Will report back what I find
  5. Thanks Town civilian, will check that today. Is it a common issue?
  6. Hi all, Just picked up an 87 SEV6 5-spd showing 280K miles. Truck starts fine, but has a horrible miss after warming up, not even driveable. Idle drops to around 500 while doing this. Seems to run much better when cold. Any ideas on where to start looking? I did check for codes per the FSM and have none present, and none on the dash. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks Bryan
  7. OK, cleaned the MAF with correct cleaner, a little better, but now showing a CES light that wasn't before. Car idles perfect, but as it warms up and I keep throttling it will eventually begin bogging. You can hear air sucking thru the TB, like its not getting enough fuel. If you try to drive and put it under load, its even worse, but idle stays perfect. Gonna check the codes today and see what I have. The oil does have a fuel smell to it. Any other ideas?
  8. Hi all, Just picked up an 88 XE 4x4 that had been sitting for two years. PO indicated that her son moved away and before that it was a DD / mudtruck... It starts but misses and stumbles terribly. Gets worse as it warms up. After that, once you rev it up too much, it will eventually big out and die, almost as if its getting too much fuel and not enough air. There are no CES lights on. I did put about 3 gallons of 93 octane in it with Techron and Seafoam. Also put on a new fuel filter. Redoing some vac hoses tomorrow. Can you think of anything else I need to check? Any help is much appreciated. Also looking for a cheap push bar for the front if you know of any... Thanx Bryan
