  1. Better get the manual for u'r yr. I did mine, 94 path 4x4. 4WD for d21's require removal of timing belt. Also, my leak looked like water pump, but was really the small connector hose above it. Look at large hose from radiator to engine @top of motor, then look for small hose coming off the housing. Hard to see, use light.
  2. yesterday my auto 94 pathy began shifting in 3rd at 3k rpm, instead of the usual 2k. it's been doing that all day today. fluid level looks ok as does the color. anybody know what might be going on internally? is this internal clutch problems or the bands? i don't think it's related, but my idle has gone way up over the past two weeks. might be the used AICV i installed 6 months ago. but that wouldn't affect my tranny, would it? (normal idle is 700, but after warm up it's doing 1300). anybody have any clues?
  3. check u didn't pull the wire off the idle air control valve, which is in the back of engine, rt. side, close to the fire wall u should be cold idle at 1100 or so & warm at 700 rpm. the electrical connector snugs up pretty good, but in older vehicles u might have popped it off during the recent work. when i replaced my IACV i didn't have room to put the "U" shaped metal clip on the electrical connector. check to make sure u'r metal clip is on the connector, else it's easy to pop it off while doinking around back there.
  4. yes, 4x4. fricking manual!!! thanks a bunch, i'll check it out,
  5. i also have a 94 se w/ VG30es motor. my vehicle speed sensor (VSS) is toast...speedo bouncing around. manual says VSS is in the instrument cluster (but the ka24e engine & most other cars have it attached to the tranny). does anyone have any experience replacing the VSS? manual says to pull the steering wheel & cluster out to replace the VSS. just checking to see for sure. it's a lot of work. In the EL section of the manual it refers to the VSS at the tranny. any clues guys?
  6. Hey fellow pathy's. Newbie here. Just bot a 94 Pathy w. only 114k miles. Love it. Looking forward to tapping into the collective wisdom of other owners. Very helpful to keep these things running well. Had an Isuzu 4x4 pick up for 10 years. Like going off into the desert. Currently live in Ca. but might be heading north. Pathy seems to love the hgwy, straight & smooth. Likes gas though. Thanx for being here guys.
