  1. Someone around the corner from me has one of those iQ's. . . thing is the size of a shoebox. I have to say, though, it ups the game from a Smart Car. It is very small, but looks proportional. (the smart Car looks odd, like a Fiat - too tall) I bet it would be a lot of fun to drive with a stick shift. . . . .

  2. i Own, Build, Port, and Race Rotary. What is Thy Question. lol

Wow, that's pretty open-ended. How bout this. . . .I'm thinking about a toy. This wouldn't be a daily driver, but would be used for fun and the occasional highway trip. It would need to be dependable for that reason. Would you suggest an RX-8, or a late-iteration RX-7? What are some trouble spots with each? If I were to go RX-7, should I avoid the turbo, or target a turbo?

Also, do you have a forum recommendation where I could learn and maybe look to make a purchase?

Oh, I almost forgot. With me, a stick-shift is a given, so if there are issues specific to the automatics, thou needest not trouble thyself, lol.

  3. Does anyone have any firsthand knowledge of Mazda rotary engines? Maybe you owned one, worked on one, had a buddy who had one, etc. My family had a 70's station wagon when I was a kid, I think it was an RX-4. Used to spit tremendous clouds of blue smoke when you started it due to apex seal failure - so maybe I'm just being a bit nostalgic. . . .

  4. Thank you Santa!

Looks like a selection of flavors from the South and a good book. :aok:

All of it will be put to good use, but I laugh at the wimpy injector for the Cajun Garlic Marinade! To the left is mine...

I think that wraps it up for this year, everyone's presents are accounted for.

It was another fun year, so thanks everyone for playing Secret Santa #5 and thank you Derek for reminding me and playing this year.

Next year we'll see about a little more timely schedule.

Oops, it seems that Koveman hasn't chimed in. Is all well Bud?

Glad you like it. As far as injectors, how am I to know that you have a mental-hospital issue hypo? And why do I find that somewhat disturbing.....Human Beef...... *scratches head*

Also, try brewing the Cafe Du Monde in milk instead of water. Put an appropriate amount of grounds in a cheesecloth and brew it directly in milk in a pot on the stove. That's how cafe au lait is served at the actual Cafe Du Monde in the French Quarter. Goes great unsweetened with the beignets.

  5. Received my secret Santa gift today; it was waiting on the porch when we returned from my "ancestral manse."

A slow-cooker cookbook! A very astute observation on Santa K's (mallcrawler) part, seeing as how I've posted several crock-pot recipes, and have had lengthy discussions with B about crock-pot recipes.....thank you, K!

According to the clerk when I shipped out, my Santa recipient was supposed to receive theirs today. (It was kinda heavy)

  6. I think they should just drop the Pathfinder name altogether. The only path that thing could find is an Interstate highway on it's in-dash nav system.

What's the code for a Quest? Because that should be the letter code for it.

  7.

What is the Golden Triangle? I'm a gulf coast native but have no idea what that is, I'm guessing Beaumont, Orange and Port Arthur? You ever go wheeling down around Crystal Beach or High Island area?

You got it, Beaumont/ Port Arthur/ Orange. I haven't gone wheeling since moving here three years ago, so I have no idea on locations. But this is Texas, so, there's got to be some places.
