wd21 sas, what axle options ?
passengerpete replied to Stinka's topic in Solid Axle Swaps, Hardcore Custom Fab
hi mate the y60 is about 100mm to wide , but i did not bother shorten them. i will just buy some -offset rims to bring the track back in, don't forget you will need to change ya transfer case around to the other side. Meany ways of doing this. i just used the safari gearbox as well, just so i could use a mechanical winch. -

go patrol to keep all nissan. front and rear ratio both the same. -
i don't know the the best solution mate. they all involve skinned knuckles and swearing. i never tried putting a patrol transfer case on the back off the vg30 trans. all tho i can confirm that the automatic trans shear a common bolt patten at the bell housing end. so that might be your answer. so try putting a auto patrol trans in with ya vg30 bell housing and trans pump. or try flipping ya stock one

your y60 2.8td has same gear box insides as what you have already. they changed the transfer case left to right and a few things like that, what ever gear box you decide on wont matter if its diesel or petrol the rpm only matters in a auto trams then ya just change the shifting points, im running the bigger 4.2 gearbox in mine. the front diffs are the same in 2.8 or 4.2 they just changed gear ratios to compensate from 4.1 to 4.6 cheers.

yep diff moved forward 3'' as for tyres im not sure will have a look around here and make my mind up later. some where around 33'' 35''

front bar is Nissan factory, they came out standard on em here. its only good for mounting lights as its very light, it being pulled off soon so winch can go on. cheers
-
thanks for that andrew will save double posting.

drive train is nissan safari/patrol, also has the pto on side of gearbox for winch. the gearbox is massive an is also found in smaller Nissan buss the smaller trucks so is a bit of a over kill in a wd21. over here we don't get any of those jeep diffs dyna 44 ?

using nissan safari frount end. still need to finish a few things.

thanks i liked the idea of having a water to air inter cooler, it just makes sense to me. when driving slowly around the trails in lo box.. and was all done under $200 and works very well. when researching this the Subaru boys where complaining that the design became restrictive at 200bhp but that's not a problem the td27t will never be remotely close to that lol

yes there recliners
-
yes 0 off set for the front, the back will be staggered. will put a pic up tomorrow of it unfinished but you will see how wide it is. but wont be too bad.
-
thanks its mine. if the username is the same there are two there, yea its about 200mm to wide
-
yes sas ing at mo gear box and front diff is y60 patrol/safari in fact most of the running gear is safari lol .keeping rear diff tho.
-
the water to air intercooler was off a 1992 Subaru legacy rs the flange was just some 80mm x 10mm flat bar that laying around. i clamped the old exhaust dump pipe to it and drilled throw both, easy as that.
-
putting on a pto winch at mo
-
lol there where only $140 NZ dollars for the pair
-
there out of a big horn and they were a easy fit , no welding needed only a grinder, a tape, some bolts, and a drill, and a spear two hours. i have seen some terranos with factory recaros so even easier to just buy those ones. the evo 1&2 had same seats too.. its one of the best things i have done too my truck, so nice to sit in and cheep too.

hi umm sorry i don't know what you mean by bars im guessing ya mean boost ? if so it about 20psi. but most of the time it is 18psi tho. oh im a dumb ass i just clicked to what you meant bar as in boost. 1 bar = 14psi ? so gust guessing it would be about 1.4 bar ?
