  1. You are correct on the tire size~ I guess what you are saying is if a (the) front hubs are sticking that means they are spinning the front cv's, diff, and axle up to the transfer case? That makes sense to me. I will get my paint pen out and see what I can find out in the next few days. edit: I have no record of the O2 sensor(s) being changed, that is on my short list of things to do.
  2. I have a question on what MPG I should expect out of my 93 auto 4x4. I thought the original window sticker (paper) had it rated at 16/ 18 but I could be wrong. Well 3 weeks ago I filled the tank and drove it 95 miles over the following 2 weeks. The fuel needle was on 1/2 at that point (it acts up below that) so I figured it's inaccurate most of the time. Well it took 9.5 gallons to fill it back up. Not good. Well over the following week I drove 110 miles, filled up last night and I was at 10.2. Never went into 4 wheel drive and I baby the truck to the point I have people pass me cause I don't accelerate off a light fast enough. The truck just passed emissions, has new plugs, wires, cap, CAT, runs great.. so my question is~ is this normal MPG for 110 miles and no issues with the engine? Just seems low for a V6 that as far as I know is in tip top shape. Thanks!
  3. I really wish someone had snapped a pic of said "embryonic position" : )
  4. Sweet. I like NGK's plugs, I would assume a wire set from them would also be of good quality. I need to sort out my power antenna gears or whatever and I will be looking good too : )
  5. Well that backs her story~ She thought he always put around 4qt's in so cool, ty. I am starting to think maybe the quick lube place over filled it at one point or something. Anyway, engine runs great so I am not going to worry. Thanks~ ~Jason
  6. Anyone heard of any issues with filling the truck with the amount of oil specified in the manual? I.E. the engine will run sluggish? Previous owner seems to recall my uncle always did one quart less than stated in the book or the engine would run poorly. Any info on said possible issue with the oil level? 93, 3.0V6 auto trans Thanks~
  7. Key-chain hitting the steering column lol. It's not that loud in the truck but I thought the same thing after watching the vid myself. Took about an hour to get all the mud out from the underside this afternoon. And yes the light wheeling was fun and allowed me to get to know the truck. I cant wait to take it to the Texas coast here in the next month or so.
  8. I found a nice place to get a little dirty and just fool around about 1 mile from my place. I took the camera today and shot 2 short videos; one in truck and one outside. I have a short track set up that is fun for light wheeling. Prob boring to guy's with SAS and what not but I figured I would post them anyway. 720p HD Inside Outside
  9. Seems like it would depend if the shop already had one of the colors you want in an open can or something. Plus I would not think a national chain of shops would not have the same policy as a smaller shop. So maybe XYZ paint and body down the road may be the best place to start.
  10. I use to but I am not good at converting gallons to liters on the fly at the gas pump anymore.
  11. Sill Brit's and the Metric System (I kid I kid).
  12. This was where I based my assumption on~
  13. Well for now I can deal with it. I will get my repair manual out and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the info guys.
  14. I noticed the other day when I went out to run some errands I was on a little more than a quarter tank. Then the needle would sink way down to E and slowly go up a little. I was afraid I was almost out of gas and so I put some in. Today about the same thing happened. I stop to fill up and I could only get 10 gallons in. Well I think it has a 21 gallon tank so is this a common problem and is there an easy fix or is the sending unit going out? It's a bit frustrating not being able to trust the fuel gauge Thanks~
  15. Schizo when I first heard TXU advertise the "green energy plan" or whatever they call it on the radio I thought wow. Pay more and feel better about yourself. What a joke
  16. Here is a video of the intermittent idle issue I am trying to sort out~ Engine is warm, does it at least 30% of the time I am at a light or whatever. Runs just fine other than that.
  17. You don't miss the benefit of the flares?
  18. Stance looks good. Maybe I don't need a lift after all
  19. I noticed yours the other day. I like it Suspension lift and 32's? never mind, I read your sig :x
  20. More pictures! Sunday I went out to the business park that is about 1/2 mile from my apt.. There is a massive drainage basin in between some large industrial properties so it seems to be a good place to get off the pavement. I went out today to check out the ruts and track /course when I was out there Sunday evening. Turned out to be quite a bit of fun, and the truck never had any trouble walking/ rolling thru the mud. I will snap a video in the next week or so, just have not mounted it yet : ) You can see 2 of the ramps going up / down the bank This basin is huge! I am guessing 80+ acres. Plenty of room to goof off All my ruts : ) It was blank before I got there. I washed the truck Monday~ It was pretty dirty after an hour or so of action : )
  21. ^ I like it. I consider any joke electric vehicle to be a coal powered car. We laughed a local proud Volt owner away from a local Sat night show and shine as well. He pulled up, backed in and proceeded to pop the hood. We giggle, he takes off. : )
  22. My 2011 Chevy 2500's 6 speed and torque converter are pretty high tech as well. And no, not the Allison, it's a 6L90E (If I remember correctly). 1st is a granny, then a somewhat normal 4 speed in the middle of a 5th and 6th overdrive gears. Ya, cool enough but I noticed when I am pulling a trailer or a large load the trans will actually slip the torque converter to increase RPM but not downshift. The first time it did it I was like wow, that's slick. And yes I know torque converters are designed per the car they are in~ for example a slow 3 speed automatic Neon trans only locks the torque converter in 3rd gear. anyway~
  23. Thanks a bunch for all the info guys. I am just glad something did not break my first time off the road I was really impressed at how the truck would just roll right through sloppy mud. And it only took 30 min to clean it all (90% of it) off.
  24. Sorry if I was not clear last night, I had a few drinks once I got home. I was stating that I was able to verify that 4L and 4H both work just fine. But after I had been playing for a little bit that is when she did not want to go back up the hill and the motor would not go above 2K rpm. Sooo I went out this morning and drove around the block. Everything is acting normal. So who knows maybe something got wet. To be honest I was scared that I had already broke something and went to bed fairly aggravated and anticipating a future "told you so" from my Dad lol. One other thing I noticed is every so often the truck dances around about 200rpm (very little)trying to find an idle. However most times it is just fine. It never surges or anything like that so I have ruled out a vac leak b/c it comes and goes. I am going to try cleaning the idle air control motor and see what happens. Also, this "power" light... It did flash every now and then but only if I was punching the throttle. What's it's function? And by the way~ it was SOOOO much fun wheeling in that little truck. It's a blast to drive and I can't wait for more!
