  1. nonsense! You can do lots with a stock Pathy! Good tyres and careful driving is always way more important than "lift". as far as off road performance vs ride quality I'd have to recommend the Iron Man springs with NX4 or 4x4 designs strut spacers.

There's much more to aftermarket support than lifting such as: bar work, engine mods and body mods like flares to name a few. If you have the money and/or you aren't good with fabricating parts your better off getting something else rather than an r50 depending on how much you plan on modifying it. There are however a few vendors on this site that make some aftermarket components for the r50. How much money are you planning on spending in total for this offroad truck, I'm guessing you're not interested in the wd21? If you get something with better aftermarket support you can save heaps on second hand aftermarket parts also e.g If you got a truck with a dana 44, there would be heaps of ratio choices as well as locker choices that you could get for cheap.

  2. Beergarage.com has a write up on rebuilding one, its a 2WD but same concept, just separate it from the transfer case. He didn't really have any special tools either. He's a big DIY guy.

I actually have that bookmarked, pretty useful stuff. Here it is

  3. I understand this a common problem on the VG 30. When I did my timing belt and water pump etc.. last fall, the guy at Factory Nissan in TX ~ I think mentioned that there is a coolant pipe with a rubber connecting hose, that runs underneath the intake manifold. That is prone to leak and drive people crazy trying to locate the source. Because it runs under the manifold, it especially hard to locate hence most people ignore it until it turns into a gushing leak.
I would look a little closer at that as a cause.

Maybe the vq has the same problem .

  4. I have a td27 service manual, it doesn't have the vacuum diagrams but it does have egr diagrams if that helps? If you want a copy of the service manual let me know.

  5. Why don't you base your design off the vg30i plenum rather than the vg30e lower plenum like mr.510s one for sale? You will get much better flow that way and it will be much less work/more practical.

  6. Nefarious, so the VG33e stock you gain 17hp and 16 lb-ft of torque I think. which isn't a lot, but percentage wise, I would think is noticeable. With the other upgrades you did along with the swap what do you think you are actually making power wise? did you use your same transmission, change gearing at all?

You can gain more than that for free by putting stock vg30e cams in your vg33e, not too sure how much the gain is but free power is free power.

  7.

Can anyone help me with the part name and number for the steel brake line that broke? It's the line that goes into the rubber line to the axle.

I have a new control arm coming tomorrow, and a new fender on Monday. I think I can save the headlight. sigh.

That fender looked pretty salvageable .

  8. That sucks. I had a '91 Mustang GT - because of the high theft rates for those cars in the mid-90s, I used to pull the rotor out of the distributer when parking overnight at my apartment, the logic being that a quick hot-wire that won't start will usually cause the perp to run away rather than pop the hood to do some troubleshooting, leaving behind damage rather than an empty parking space. The *one* night I said "screw it, it'll be fine" and didn't disable it, it got stolen. I've not done any "special" moves to my pathy, but reading how many are getting Pathynapped here, I may start yanking the coil wire (which seems to be the simplest part to remove on it).

Why not just install a kill switch?
