  1. i'm pulling the engine in my 93 4x4 and was wondering if anyone could give me some good advice. i tried to drop the diff according to my Hayne's manual but it does'nt give me the clearance i need. can i possibly just slide the tranny back enough without actually having to drop it to be able to pull the motor?

yes but it's not easy you need to move tranny and transfer case as a whole and remove the d/l's, but it not nessesary
